ICE Upset Greens Spin Doctor
Your headline about The Greens drugs policy is as misleading as that of The Daily Telegraph, and defamatory of our Greens candidates. I wonder if you have looked at the policy or just taken your story from the Telegraph. "Is that the truth or did you read it in the Telegraph?"
The Greens policy is for the removal of criminal sanctions for personal use of drugs and that criminal penalties are to be retained for the production, importing or commercial supply of drugs. To portray that as a blanket decriminalisation of drugs is not accurate reporting. The Greens do not encourage drug use, we believe that users should be directed to treatment programs and rehabilitation rather than prison for using drugs.
We acknowledge that the war on drugs through prohibition failed long ago and new strategies need to be found to prevent crime and tragedies caused by drugs like ice. The current social tragedies relating to drugs are occurring even though the prohibition philosophy has been implemented for decades. It would be appreciated if your headline could at least be accurate. Greens to decriminalise personal use of drugs is more accurate, and reporting of retention of criminal penalties as outlined would be fair too. The inaccuracy damages the credibility of your website.
Our policy can be found at

Editorial:
Geoff,thank you for your email.
We at SOS-NEWS do not rely on any controlled mainstream media for our news stories and find your inference regarding our publications on Greens drugs policy as insulting as the policy itself.
The decriminalisation for personal use of illegal drugs is not a new vote getting exercise. Various parties have used it in the past to attract disgruntled fringe dwellers.

As Lee Rhiannon (pictured) is number one on the Greens ticket and was the spokeswoman for the Greens on radio talk back. It is fair and reasonable for all NSW citizens who listened to her interviews to understand and believe that what she says is a reflection and explanation of what your Greens policies mean.
Maybe you should listen before you speak on what Rhiannon did say on behalf of the Greens, which most certainly damaged whatever credibility your party was clutching to. Click Herelisten to what she said to Ray Hadley on Radio 2GB ....
The general public (ie: the voters of Australia) are the ones who ultimately make the decision as to their elected representatives on polling day.
We believe people are capable of making informed decisions based on the information available and being neither naïve nor ill-informed, are generally not interested with radical reform - and particularly in regard to social issues such as drug abuse, which they see as - ILLEGAL
Our 2 year credibility rides on an average 450 new subscribers per week, with 3 unsubscribing, over 41,000 computers on the mailing list who forward on SOS-NEWS to 3.86 other people from a conducted poll - not counting the website news archive, we service some 340,000 readers, I feel we can substantiate credibility

VIctorian 4Wheel Drivers Head For Politics
At the President's meeting of Four Wheel Drive Victoria held Sunday 5th
February the issue of the upcoming state election was discussed in detail.
In particular the fact that this year is the first election for the upper
house under the amended constitution.
Members were advised on the issue of the decline in real terms in funding
for land management and the growth in National Parks. It was also noted that
the Australian Senate is investigating this issue and seeking input for a
national review.
It is recognised that we are not dealing with the issue of our right to use
four wheel drive vehicles in the forests and parks, but being responsible
advocates for proper land management through sustainable funding for our
land managers together with public land access for recreation for all
Victorian's.
The meeting discussed various issues about influence, common approach
(involving other organisations) and getting our views out into the public
arena.
The Association has resolved to investigate further the position of the
major parties with respect to recreation in forests and parks and to develop
a how to vote card for members. The purpose of the card is to give guidance
to the broader community and the recreational community on how best to
influence the outcome of the state election to protect our collective
rights.
The Association resolved to invite other like minded recreational and
community based organisation to meet and discuss the issues in relation to
public land management, its funding and the political parties position on
those issues.

Keep In Mind For The Vic Election
THE Bracks Government is expected to spend more than $80 million advertising
itself this year.
It spent $11 million on TV, radio and newspaper ads in just the 51 days to
November 27, documents leaked to the Herald Sun show. This figure means
Victorian taxpayers are spending more than $216,000 a day to sell the
Government.
With $80 million, the Government could build nine police stations, 15
secondary schools, employ 1226 teachers or nurses or 1143 policemen, or
treat 25,205 more people in hospital.
Opposition Leader Robert Doyle said it was a shameful waste of taxpayers'
money.
The leaked tally of advertising space bought by the Government was prepared
by AC Nielsen for private media buyer Mitchell & Partners, but the total
cost of advertising is unknown, with millions spent on other promotional
material, including mailouts and printing costs.
A government spokeswoman said the Bracks Government did not have a contract
with Mitchell & Partners, so figures could not be checked. The spokeswoman
said $80 million was consistent with average spending on advertising since
2003.
About three years ago, the Auditor-General set the cost of all government
advertising at $70 million, she said. Up to a quarter of that amount is for
recruitment advertisements and the majority is for public education
campaigns.

$7.5m Of Your Money for work once done FREE - Green Funding
Victoria's Alpine National Park is to get a state government-funded
clean-up, but the evicted cattlemen reckon they took good care of the
environment for free.
Six months ago, 600 mountain cattlemen and women mustered on horseback
outside Victoria's parliament house to protest a ban on alpine grazing in
the national park.
Generations of high country families said the move would threaten their
livelihoods and destroy a 170-year-old tradition.
Today, January 5th 2006, acting Premier John Thwaites announced an
environmental works program to eradicate pests from the park and revegetate
the Alpine bogs.
"Cattle grazing will continue outside the park's boundaries, but we will be
restoring the environment to its natural state in the Alpine National Park,"
he said.
"With the removal of the cattle, a $7.5 million Bracks government funding
package and increased volunteer efforts, environmental works will be stepped
up dramatically in the park."Mr Thwaites said Parks Victoria had established
partnerships with several community groups and projects would include
controlling goat numbers in the Mount Mittamatite region and restoration of
historic alpine huts.
"TWITer" has cost the public of Victoria under direction from the Green $7.5
million for a job done FREE by the High Country Cattlemen over 170 years.
It has been established environmentally, outside the concrete minded Radical
Greenneck destruction bunker, internationally that cattle grazing
contributes to the environment and do not destroy bogs and watering holes as
projected from the boutique science graduates presenting tailored finding
suited to Greenneck agendas.
Accountable they are not - radical they are - and it's your vote Victoria.
Ask the question just how much funding are the GREEN's getting from the $7.5
million street theatre being presented in the Alpine Park being directed and
produced by the Bracks government.
Being granted water rights in Victoria by the Bracks government, the
Greenneck recently SOLD irrigation water to farmers - the people they are
he'll bent on destroying - for several $millions which will boost their
coffers to fund their death squads who are killing off our rural industry by
threats and false ecology.
Labor platform is supported by funding the Green Machine - but its your vote

Water Susidies Bracks Style
Mr Bracks is out there wooing rural communities presenting that ever present façade of “my government is here to help the farmers”. So let SOS present some facts from your own government resources Mr Bracks on water rebate/subsidies that paint yet another picture of your inability report the truth.
We have figures from the Victorian Department of Sustainability year ending 2004, that confirm your dedicated help is directed to the city folk on a big dollar basis that
indicates the loyalty farmers receive from Shifty Steve. Take a look at some of the major contributions to farmer compared with the city.
For example Lake Mokoam has been decommissioned by Bracks government which was servicing irrigation to farmers leaving them without water and a rebate being the cheapest of $1364 for 44,000 megalitres a total of $60 million.
Now in the city for saving just 220 megalitres for 13,770 consumers who bought AAA washing machines they received $150 being $2.07m which is cost of $9375 per megalitre.
Let us not forget the important AAA dishwasher which netted 5815 city dwellers for saving 17.4 megalitres $100 each costing government $581,500.00 which is $5,815 per megalitre.
Now the crowning glory to attract your attention was catering to the snow bunnies, those well known polluters of the Snowy Mountain Mt Hotham area during the winter. This protected species received 100 megalitres of grey water to “make snow” at a cost to Victorians of $84,000 per megalitre resulting in a staggering cost of $8.4 million dollars.
More of this is available but it would be stating the obvious how Mr Bracks and John (Twitter) Thwaites (Minister for Conservation) lie to rural communities of Victoria.
Contact we have within the bunkers of Bracks told us the spin doctors for the millstones of ministry relate that the city people need to feel they have made an investment to water conservation.
Well it’s your election in 2006, “what do you think”?
Why not email Mr Bracks here and tell him your thoughts.

Country Voice Victoria Media Release
I am attaching some press clippings re the forest industry. The story in which Graeme Stoney is quoted is partially a result of the roster system CV set up to assist contractors in guarding their equipment and Graeme's diligence in raising the matter in Parliament. In other news a NSW logging contractor has been successful in getting a Supreme Court injunction against protestors (see below) who have been blockading his workplace for months. As usual the protestors are crying foul and saying that free speech is threatened. We need to let our supporters know that what is being prevented is the activities intended to stop a contractor and his employees earning a living. Basically it is unlawful to plan and act to stop one company from trading with another. It always has been the law but logging contractors have not previously exercised their rights to seek injunctions. After decades of being the subject of regular blockades people are saying enough is enough.

Court order halts anti-logging protest

The Nature Conservation Council (NCC) says the order also prevents some of the activists from directing other protesters to hinder access to logging areas.
Council's director Cate Faehrmann says the legal action was unnecessary.
"The right to peacefully protest in this country is under attack increasingly and this could be another example of that," she said.
"We will be urging the State Government to try and introduce laws to outlaw this kind of questionable, these questionable court cases and we'll see how we go with that."

Telstra Weapon
There has been much ado by the Howard Government in relation to the sell off of the remaining majority portion of Telstra. The need to do this has been touted as necessary to allow Telstra to become competitive in the market place. What market place? The market place of corporate agenda and profit.
The reality is that Telstra some years back, with much fanfare and acclaim, told us all about how the last remote telephone had been installed in a very distant geographical point of
What the bureaucrats are not telling you is that communication technology has moved ahead so far that Telstra has now upon it the obligation to provide the public of

We Will Remember Them
On the 11th of November 1918 was the end to what many called the "Great War" and on this day we remember those who paid the supreme sacrifice for this country.
As an ex-serviceman, [returned serviceman I dislike as all men and women who joining the armed services were directed under orders to battle or not to battle, this was out of the individuals control] as was my father and mentioned grandfather, it is a slap in the face when we that are left can see what government is doing with the heritage left by our forefathers. Should the courage of those WW2 servicemen and women not extended themselves for the salvation of this Australia, then these politician of sad credibility would not have existed under Japanese rule.
I would like to say to those radical greens, government bureaucrats and pathetic politicians - take one more minute silence after remembering our fallen. Consider the lies and unspeakable hardship you have bestowed on the rural community of this nation that our fallen will never forgive you for.
And to Mr Bracks, premier of Victoria, if you had done to your ancestors in Lebanon what you have done to mine in here Australia you would have now joined them.
"We Will Remember you in 2006"
Scientist Told To Remove Evidence
No sooner has SOS run a story in the last issue on the pressures causing scientists and researchers to publicly espouse that which is less than what they actually know and believe from their research, "Monkey on scientists back becomes visible," but now we have a retired scientist who was employed by Government here in this Nation showing just how dangerous these bureaucrats are with their agendas and power they wield.
![]()
This story is not only a must to read by every Australian citizen to understand just how manipulated our eminent scientific community are, but describes in graphic detail just how insidious the green movement is and the incredible damage such a movement has caused to the Australian ecosystem. An ecosystem that you have all been led to believe these Green Necks [along with the powerful Bureaucracy that is treasonously selling out Australian farming interests] are protecting, where in fact they are with out doubt almost the sole cause of the problems that they claim to be fighting.
![]()
It is also without doubt time for the farmers nationally to fight back and fight back with a vengeance against a the assault against their livelihoods that such dastardly, ill-informed groups such as the Wilderness Society - who are nothing but puppets of the Bureaucrats who are stealing everything that has value in this nation, for their corporate masters.
![]()
This story, a transcript of a speech given in 2005 by Mr Bill Burrows who spent 40 years of his life as a research scientist employed by the Government, is proof that all you farmers are being screwed in a manner that can almost be described as the intentional criminal intent to defraud the citizens of this nation of the results of proven scientific research.
![]()
Read this story, now reread and reread it again, print it out and e-mail it far and wide, because this is one monkey on a scientist's back that has been thrown to the floor and crushed under foot.

Just how deep are the lies and deceit of those we entrust ?

Debus the Turd Man
Sydney Daily Telegraph By Andrew Clennell November 11, 2005
The NSW Attorney-General, Bob Debus, has described the anti-terrorism legislation that his boss, the Premier, Morris Iemma, agreed to with John Howard as "shithouse" in a confidential caucus briefing.
Mr Debus, according to caucus sources, said that the federal bill "started out as a bill of which Adolf Hitler would be proud and now it's just a shithouse bill".
![]()
Mr Debus yesterday was understood to be furious at the leaking of his comments. He had been speaking to about 25 MPs, many of whom have real concerns with NSW's decision to agree to the bill.

I think Mr Debus has shown the people his capabilties yet again ... DON'T YOU

And by the way it would seem that they find it difficult to publish a letter to the editor I sent them 4 weeks ago that spelt out some home truths which must have been challenging. Will give them another week then publish it for you all here in SOS-NEWS

Looks like we will reach 10,000 subscibers in the next few issues as the flow is still steady. WE have our share of unsubscribers as well but so small it is just a handful each week.
