“Like RUST We Never Sleep” - Publishing Information Main Stream Media Dismiss, Instructed By Government-Public Servant Control

SOS-NEWS contributing farmer and scientist Noeline Franklin has put her hat in the ring nominating for director on the board of the Tablelands District newly formed LIVESTOCK HEALTH AND PEST AUTHORITIES (LHPA).

The LHPA in NSW is to replace the Rural Lands Protection Board (RLPB), of which Noeline was a director at the YASS Board for may years until it was disbanded some months ago pending the new authority.

Noeline, always dedicated to the environment, landholders and ratepayers, is well know for her frank and often outspoke pledge to maintain a farmers foothold with authorities, returning transparency and accountability to the farmers.

The Yass RLPB established agenda driven directors have received much adverse publicity after sanctioning by ratepayer farmers and pressure applied by Ms Franklin, all had had enough from this clandestine board.

LHPA ratepayers are reminded to register for voting in their Director representatives at their new entity by 29th of May 2009.
Voting papers need to be lodged by 19th June 2009.

Speaking with Noeline this week, she informed me…

“I have accepted nomination for the Tablelands LHPA ward ‘B’ south of the Abercrombie River and look forward to being part of the new era in LHPA industry representation when farming families need a strong voice campaign for service in the core functions of pest animals, disaster relief and animal health.

“There has been a lot of healthy debate in the public arena about the relevance of the LHPA and whether ratepayers are receiving value for money, or whether the Minister for Primary Industry “has all the say while farmers pay” for yet another bureaucracy they can least afford.

“It has been a long 10 years for most communities, long hours, family separation and hardship, working harder for less return and requiring Work off the farm to virtually keep the farm.

“I am committed with getting the Yass area LHPA working, to deliver service to families and communities with my farming experience, my qualification as a scientist and a Masters in Medical Science and my 16 years with the CSIRO.

“As Director with Yass RLPB 2002-8, that experience told me ratepayers want accountability, transparency, communication and good staff which I fully support and will represent the ratepayers of the tableland on every issue.”

Knowing the dedication I have seen from Noeline Franklin, along with the passion for people on the land, the state of our rural communities from drought, pest animals, and such, she will give 110% for the farmers and not back down when elected - something prevalent with politicians under party room control and not representing the people.

It is interesting to see the NHPA candidates list for the Tablelands includes recent Yass RLPB chairperson “Nigel Baines”, who took at the last and final meeting of that RLPB, a barrage of criticism from ratepayer over his running of that RLPB.

Another in attendance was “Mac Wilson”, a candidate for this new NHPA and past chairman of the Yass RLPB. After also receiving a verbal bashing over his handling of staff issues and a pathetic contribution to farmers, he informed those ratepayers, arms folded, leaning back in his chair, and with a voice of pure arrogance - “well we had the numbers in the boardroom” and glared at them.
