Again and again we see SOS-NEWS stories being cleansed and moulded to the main stream media and I feel this is great.

A Victorian volunteer committee entrusted to look after Lake Charlegrark has quit after Horsham Magistrates Court fined a member for digging on Crown land without a permit.

A Department of Primary Industries solicitor successfully prosecuted Minimay's Roy Pretlove in the Magistrates Court on Wednesday 9th May 2007. Mr Pretlove, who has volunteered on the committee for more than 40 years, was fined $150 after pleading guilty to planting a barley crop on the lakebed, removing saplings from the lake and trimming red gum trees on the foreshore and planting a barley crop in the lakebed.

Mr Pretlove was charged with disturbing the dry lakebed for cultivation purposes although, along with other volunteer committee members, he has been a long time steward of the reserve

All nine members of the long time serving Lake Charlegrark Recreation Reserve committee of management quit in protest of the court ruling at a meeting on Thursday night 10th May.

Parks Victoria Wimmera ranger in charge John Harris (pictured) is quoted as saying "people who broke the law were subject to prosecution." This DSE "Brown Shirt Storm Trooper" needs to be contacted on (03) 5381 1255 to confirm his quote and ask what moron brought these ludicrous charges against Roy Pretlove, Then he may head for that public service pension protection mode which a person of his senior years does if he is involved.

Wimmera politicians have used State Parliament to throw their support behind the former committee of the Lake Charlegrark Recreation Reserve with member for Western Victoria, David Koch, telling parliament this week `it was a needless use of a sledgehammer to crack a walnut'.

"Crop proceeds helped raise much-needed funds for the on-going maintenance of the reserve and along with the tens of thousands of dollars from hard-won grants and local contributions, the committee has saved the government thousands of dollars in maintaining this public reserve. This action raises fears that the government will now cost-shift its responsibilities for managing this reserve onto local government and it threatens the continuation of other volunteer reserve committees."

Nationals Member for Lowan Hugh Delahunty is quoted, "I am disappointed with the Bracks Government for its mishandling of volunteers who are the unpaid custodians for Department of Sustainability and Environment property, such as lakes, which is highlighted by the resignation of the Lake Charlegrark committee,"

West Wimmera farmer Mac Hawkins in disgust stated, is well-known and respected and the community should be concerned about the Primary Industry Department's prosecution of Roy Pretlove. Roy has put his life on the line on many occasions as a CFA volunteer fighting fires, many of which have been on Crown Land.

"I am unaware as to who was responsible for bringing this minor infringement to court, but one would wonder if government departments have any knowledge of the workings of local communities in country Victoria," he said.

"Neighbours don't take each other to court over such trivial matters, and statutory bodies much understand they are part of local communities."

Mr Hawkins quoted the issue threatened to destabilise long- standing relationships.

"The implications of this case could effect, indeed impair, relationships with other departments such as DSE and Parks, particularly in the fire season.

"If this is all the thanks Mr Pretlove gets for a life of voluntary work, he must wonder why he bother.

"It is certainly disincentive to young people who are thinking of volunteering."

Do not think this Radical Green driven DSE Nazi dictatorship approach is isolated to Victoria, it is a National disgrace, levelled squarely at the preference vote numbers the Green Sheeple dangle in front of our pathetic politicians who have created this taxpayer funded monster.

No doubt you have by now all read the recent article in SOS-NEWS re power saving and compact fluorescent light globes that just happen to be capable of spreading a mercury contaminant through out your child's bedroom.

So lets look at some of this in essentially an Australian context.

The contaminant side of this issue almost undoubtedly is new to most of us in the general public and from our enquiries, it appears to be a revelation for electricians as well, but the other dangers of these new so called energy saving light emitters, apparently is not.

These compact fluorescent globes have been reported to have exploded when used in conjunction with dimmer switching systems. Also they have a tendency to overheat the dimmer switch itself.

Another down side is that they are in reality, poor illuminators in comparison to our standard incandescent globed lights, therefore, without many of them being installed in a room and throughout a dwelling, you and your children will eventually be at the opticians purchasing, or increasing the strength of your spectacles.

But wait there's more; with this more being perhaps the most important anomaly of all.

In this Nation, we have corporations that are sanctioned and subsidised by our own government to run around from house to house offering to install these precious little low light emitters along with a water saving shower nozzle into your home FREE! "Yippee!" I hear you say, "finally we get something for free, I'll sign up to that." Well there is no such thing as a free lunch and only the gullible and mentally challenged believe this is so.

So just what's the catch? Well, when you sign on the dotted line and receive your invitation to receive your prospective future appointment to visit the optometrist, you also most likely have signed over the carbon credits that your house generates to these publicly spirited light globe installers. So for the sake of a light globe, you the little person, have paid handsome prospective dollars for these globes by way of your personally generated carbon credits going to someone else. And at a resale price of between 25 - 32 Euros a carbon tonne on the open market, these little government sanctioned globe installers are amassing quite a healthy Carbon Credit bank account. Are you being duded? Well that's for you to research and come to a decision about.

Now all this gets far worse as we actually look deeper into power usage as opposed to light emission in the average modern home of our carbon spewing metropolitan areas. The whole deal here is to cut energy usage at the consumer point and hence cut carbon emissions at the production point, with this being an ideal that no doubt we all believe should be sought, as long as it is sensible, viable and an achievable conservation goal. Well our government is neither honest in this quest, nor we believe very well informed and if they are informed, just who the hell are they working for?

Today, in both the new and retrofitted modern household, there has been a massive increase in the installation of low voltage halogen down-light systems, with new homes being almost entirely lighted by these aesthetic lighting systems. In fact, as I sit at my desk in a motel room as I type, there are 12 of these little darling lights in the ceiling above my head as an example of their proliferation, it is immense.

So lets look at the truth here in respect to such low voltage halogen down-light systems, with the first cab off the rank being that they will not support the environmentally wonderful compact fluorescent light globe.

Low voltage does not mean low power consumption. The average low voltage down-light system requires 4 down lights in a room to replace one standard 100watt incandescent globe. The fallacy is, that installing the down lights is in fact saving power, hence in today's Y2K world you are doing your bit for carbon emission reduction and climate change. Sorry! You are not, in fact you are increasing it.

Here's the crunch. Yes the globe is 50 watts @12 volts, but you need 4 of them to deliver the same amount of light as your old 100watt incandescent globe. Keep in mind that a down-light has a maximum light dispersion of 58 degrees as opposed to an incandescent light fitting only being constrained by the type of shade used. What you are most likely not aware of though is that each of those low voltage lights are run through individual transformers, which converts 240volts into 12 volts and each transformer uses between 40 - 60watts @ 240 volts - depending on the type and condition of the transformer- to deliver 12volt power to your low voltage globe. Now the sums do not add up here do they? 160-240 watts of 240 volts to supply 4 X 50watt 12volt down lights to effectively replace one single 100 watt incandescent globed light. A disparity between 60-140 watts of 240 volt electricity used - now add to this the carbon cost of manufacturing, packaging, freight and marketing these transformers, which we might add do not last very long and are not a necessary item for incandescent lighting, and the total carbon disparity grows substantially.

So lets take a look at a hypothetical real time scenario:

Consider we have a wealthy Australian residential multi-national corporate magnate on the board of directors for a huge investment-banking firm. This politically connected, radical green card carrying, wealthy, misinformed commercially and politically powerful activist, is sitting in his home theatre on a hot summer's day enjoying environmentally sound porno movies on his 2 metre plasma TV. The home theatre is incorporated into the lounge area, which is sumptuously furnished and the room - like the rest of his palatial house - is adorned with 18 of these wonderful low voltage halogen down-lights. Being mythologically indoctrinated into believing he is doing his bit for the environment whilst making his fortune without actually working as normal people do, he responsibly only has 8 of these 18 down-lights on so as to conserve energy, not to enhance his vision of the hot screen action.

Now if you are a wealthy carbon trading magnate living in an architecturally designed, environmentally friendly building, fitted out internally by a qualified interior designer, who of course only uses aesthetically pleasing low voltage halogen down-lights, you can be proud of the fact that you have and are, doing your bit to battle climate change, or are you?

Starting to swelter from the heat, he curses the plebeian public (common people) for causing climate change to have such dramatic effects on the ambient summer temperatures.

So the carbon trading magnate, whilst watching his plasma TV, drinking a cool beer from his inefficient refrigerator, mutters, " I have done my bloody bit for the environment, yet all these other turkeys out there are causing this Al Gore climate change to make our summers unbearable. Where upon he yells to his wife, "Darling, switch up the aircon please, each bloody summer is getting unbearably hotter." His beautiful trophy wife reacts obediently to the command and the artificial artic air-flow permeates the room and keeps both the beer and the magnate's emotional state cool.

What this myth-informed business leader of the nation - affectionately known to the real folk as a climate change dweed - fails to understand, is that his 18 beautifully recessed low voltage halogen down-lights, of which he has only 8 on due to the magnate's environmental conscientiousness, are actually emitting only 10% light for this increased power usage, BUT also provide 90% heat. Yes 8 low voltage down lights gracing his private comfy lounge/theatre room in actuality are the equivalent to having a 400 watt bathroom heater going all the time.

So this modern environmentally constructed house, albeit superb to look at, is burning more power, generating unnecessary heat, and has caused the air-conditioner to operate all summer to offset the ridiculous situation that is being replicated across residential metropolitan Australia. Increase this by a huge factor when one considers the down-light usage in the business world.

When this is brought to the baron's attention, he quickly responds by saying, "ah yes, but our investment bank has bought out 4 million hectares of productive rural property and we have planted nutrient and water sucking pine trees as a carbon sink to gain carbon positive credits, where upon we manufacture many things including globes in China, India and other third world regions at slave labour rates, in pollution spewing factories. The earned carbon credit offsets keep Australia clean, green and globally responsible and the excess credits not traded offset my house's carbon shortfalls, whilst the government maintains the Radical Green votes.

As an aside, I would like to inform you, that as a responsible investment bank, we are presently negotiating with the government on a massive commercial waste recycling venture whereby we will recycle waste in every State that is environmentally containable, in Australia, and shipping that rotten dangerous stuff to Bangladesh, Pakistan, Rawanda and other such areas, where long term land degradation is politically unimportant.

The benefits to my bank's wealthy investors is humongous, as the lucrative returns the Y2K carbon credit trading scheme affords is unlimited and hence soon 2% of the population of Australia - my mates - will be very wealthy, allowing many new ventures to take shape here in Australia due to the new industrial relations rules of Howard's, making the average worker's wages in Australia on par with our competitors in Cambodia.

Yes our future for Australia and the control thereof, is light globe bright.

Farmers across the nation are being obstructed and frustrated in accessing wild dog controls such as traps, poisons, funds and professional staff.

Wildlife are disappearing down the gullets of packs of marauding wild dogs as the gang green are influencing government departments to stop farmers from implementing dog control. You have to wonder about the endangered species business causing farmer's land to be taken and re-badged as national parks. Why, because these privately managed farming lands are the only areas left where wildlife has not been starved, butchered and burnt.

Conservation is in fact a hoax for land grab while ever-wild dog control is micro managed by the gang greens in town. 1080 beat ups and media stunts are all about killing off wildlife and farmers, so as to allow the superannuation fund managers to plant forests for carbon credits. The so-called animal liberation campaign in Victoria presently is all about turning productive family dairy farms into Kyoto forests for the global corporations.

I was talking to a man the other day who was looking after his two old horses in their old age. He advised that some gang green life styler next door reported him into the RSPCA for maltreatment of his horses. The RSPCA officers came to his property, officiously knocking on the door, inquiring about the neglected horses on his land. He told them they were well-loved geriatric animals and whilst enjoying a well earned retirement, were in reality in palliative care. SOS knows the man as a dedicated animal lover "husband". The animal righter jumped up and down. The man realizing that he could not win a reprieve for his old equine mates to see out their life naturally against such an onslaught of radical greenism, shot his two old neddies and shortened their well earned retirement.

The RSPCA has to one day ask itself, " how much of its work is deterring people from looking after loved animals elderly years in a manner not that is not exploitive." If Animal Lib gang greens had their way, all the animals in the world would be dead, just in case they were considered in pain, or considered exploited, yet the bleeding heart onlookers, know little about nothing. God help us if they ever set foot into our hospitals, or aged homes, no one would be allowed a bad hair day without fear of being euthanased. Interesting how these very same greenies see that a wild dog gutting a wallaby, or sheep, or crapping in your drinking water catchment is natural. Poor doggies can eat other animals alive, literally, but no one's allowed to poison or trap them.

If this nation seriously values their wildlife, it is time for aerial baiting to be urgently and widely reintroduced to our State Forests and National Parks this winter, and especially across the gutted burnt out Snowy from Victoria to NSW and the dank overgrown abandoned forests ready to burn all along the eastern seaboard of these States.
