After tripping around some of the Victorian National Parks over this period I have been helping my sister settle after her bereavement, I am appalled at the destruction of the people of Australia's heritage lands by obvious flawed and sanctioned legislations developed by the radical greens. Forget the worn out cliché of drought blaming as excuse floundering - this is just blatant bloody mismanagement by the DSE and John Twaites (TWIT-er) who has just been given another term in the office of Environment Minister to further destruct public land

Not one bird, not one kangaroo, no animal movement was observed for a 20 kilometer trek through the woolshed valley, deep into Ned Kelly Country, being within the "Chiltern Mount Pilot National Park".

The disgusting mismanagement evidence of the 2003 bushfires was everywhere with dead trees and ground fuel loads all tinderbox ready. This far exceeds even conservative toleration of the environment lateral thinkers who look well outside the Gang Green closed box - being home to the architects of this destruction where they continue their irretrievable havoc of your heritage.

The "Rural Radical Greenie Watch" should now be extended to the major cities, being the major Gang Greenies location of their residential caves housing these despicable environment pirates. Exposure is the one weapon they fear more than anything and that time is now here.

So get camera snapping and date recording these slugs in destruction action for future reference that will be required to remove (at their individual expense and compensation payments) these environment rodents who are hell bent on destroying your children's heritage.

Local economy requires Commonwealth support

The Commonwealth Government must support regional government and economies through better funding pathways.

Independent Candidate for Federal Eden-Monaro Acacia Rose said ‘ongoing funding problems between Commonwealth and State Governments and between State and Local Government has an immediate and long-term impact on regional economies.’

‘Regional Chambers of Commerce clearly indicate the need for better funding from the Federal level in order to sustain their tourism sector and also, local government services including libraries and swimming pools.’

‘It is not always feasible or appropriate for Local Governments to raise revenue through rate rises whereas the Commonwealth Government can assist in financial shortfalls.’

‘Along with financial training for all Local Government and better fiscal management at the State Government level, the Commonwealth has a responsibility to return taxation revenue for investment in primary infrastructure and services at the regional and local level.’

‘The community pays taxes to the Commonwealth Government in good faith including GST and this money must be returned in a timely manner – not just timed to meet election cycles – to ensure longevity of public infrastructure and services.’

Ms Rose said ‘judicious investment in water infrastructure, roads and micro-generation opportunities will bring long-term economic benefits to regional areas and clearly there is an urgent need for this investment in all the regional Shire Councils.'

‘The Chambers of Commerce across Eden-Monaro indicate to me that included in their priority needs areas are to retain Council tourism staff, proper investment in roads and infrastructure, installation of broadband and protection of local business and jobs from ebay and online commerce.’

‘The Dalgety telephone exchange has just been upgraded and can now carry broadband and at this point in time, broadband is the most important area of investment to support local businesses.’

‘Upgrading the Snowy River Way is welcome and will boost tourism opportunities and broadband is the every day bread and butter issue for local businesses however we need .’

Ms Rose said ‘With a record Federal budget surplus there is every reason to return taxpayers money to local government for staffing and infrastructure maintenance.’

Push for energy-saving fluorescents ignores mercury disposal hazards

Considering gang green scare mongering of global warming that is being government funded and previously it was the coming ice-age, we now have the energy saving light bulb (Compact Fluorescent Lamps) that the sheeple masses are rushing to installing in their homes.

Containing mercury, and if broken will contaminate the room it was illuminaring, we publish a CFL nightmare experienced by a USA resident who ended up an environmental prisoner in her own home.

Keep in mind that medical thermometers and blood pressure machines used for decades in our hospital have been outlawed as potential contaminates to the environment by the government under instructions sanctioned by their gang green masters who are now pushing the use of CFL lighting being this weeks agenda driven radical boutique science machine.

So when you make that move to installing CFL globes in your home for the environment, consider the ramifications detailed in the following world news story that present facts of CFL.

Editor

2007 WorldNetDaily.com

WASHINGTON - Brandy Bridge recently heard the claims of government officials, environmentalists and retailers like Wal-Mart all pushing the idea of replacing incandescent light bulbs with energy-saving and money-saving compact fluorescent lamps. So, last month, the Prospect, Maine, residentwent out and bought two dozen CFLs and began installing them in her home. One broke. A month later, her daughter's bedroom remains sealed off with plastic like the site of a hazardous materials accident, while Bridges works on a way to pay off a $2,000 estimate by a company specializing in environmentally sound cleanups of the mercury inside the bulb.

With everyone from Al Gore to Wal-Mart to the Environmental Protection Agency promoting CFLs as the greatest thing since, well, the light bulb, consumers have been left in the dark about a problem they will all face eventually - how to get rid of the darn things when they burn out or, worse yet, break.

There is no problem disposing of incandescents when their life is over. You can throw them in the trash can and they won't hurt the garbage collector. They won't leech deadly compounds into the air or water. They won't kill people working in the landfills.

The same cannot be said about the mercury-containing CFLs. They bear disposal warnings on the packaging. But with limited recycling prospects and the problems experienced by Brandy Bridges sure to be repeated millions of times, some think government, the green community and industry are putting the cart before the horse marketing the new technology so ferociously.

Consider her plight.

When the bulb she was installing in a ceiling fixture of her 7-year-old daughter's bedroom crashed to the floor and broke into the shag carpet, she wasn't sure what to do. Knowing about the danger of mercury, she called Home Depot, the retail outlet that sold her the bulbs.

The store warned her not to vacuum the carpet and directed her to call the poison control hotline in Prospect, Maine. Poison control staffers suggested she call the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

The latter sent over a specialist to test the air in her house for mercury levels. While the rest of the house was clear, the area of the accident was contaminated above the level considered safe. The specialist warned Bridges not to clean up the bulb and mercury powder by herself - recommending a local environmental cleanup firm.

That company estimated the cleanup cost, conservatively, at $2,000. And, no, her homeowners insurance won't cover the damage.

Since she could not afford the cleanup, Bridges has been forced to seal off her daughter's bedroom with plastic to avoid any dust blowing around. Not even the family pets are permitted in to the bedroom. Her daughter is forced to sleep downstairs in an overcrowded household.

Bridges is not alone.

Elizabeth Doermann of Vanderbilt, Tenn., had a similar experience. After her CFL bulb broke - because the cat knocked over a lamp - she didn't call Home Depot. Instead, she did what she had always done when old-fashioned incandescent bulbs had broken. She vacuumed up the mess.

Only then did she learn about the mercury hazard.

"If I had known it had mercury in it, I would have been a lot more careful," she told the Tennessean. "I wouldn't have vacuumed it up. That blew the mercury probably all through the house."

The warnings on the packages of some of the new bulbs are in fine print - hard to read. They are also voluntary, with many bulbs being sold and distributed with no disposal warnings at all.

Charmain Miles of Toronto, Canada, had another frightening experience with a CFL bulb.

Last month she smelled smoke on the second floor of her home, only to discover it was emanating from a new energy-efficient bulb.

"I was horrified," she told a local TV station. "I went through every place upstairs and took out every bulb."

The bulb had been placed in a track-lighting fixture. Though the bulb contained no warning about such fixtures, it turns out CFLs are not for use in track, recessed or dimmer fixtures.

And while the Consumers Council of Canada advises not to purchase any package of CFL bulbs that contains no instructions, the entire country is on a timetable to eliminate entirely the only alternative - the incandescent bulb.

But recycling experts say the solutions are at least five years away. Meanwhile, millions of consumers and green activists are being persuaded to make the switch

No question about it, though. You as a consumer will be required to find certified waste recycling centers to turn in your dead and broken bulbs.

Some experts predict the next generation of lighting, though, is LED lights. They are made from semiconductor materials that emit light when an electrical current flows through them. When this form of light takes over, all bulbs will be obsolete. Your wall tiles can light up. Curtains and drapes can light up. Even your dining room table could be made to light up - at exactly the level you want.

That's what is ahead in the next decade, according to some in the industry.

Nobody promoted CFLs as aggressively as IKEA. Not only does the retailer sell them, it also provides one of the very few recycling centers for the burned out bulbs. But even with a plethora of recycling centers, how will the public view the prospect of saving up dead bulbs and transporting them to recycling centers? And how about the danger of breakage in that process?

"The industry is currently aiming at totally mercury-free CFL lighting, but this is still five to 10 years away," admits IKEA.

Those who really care about this problem right now are those involved in the waste industry.

"Most agree more energy-efficient light bulbs can significantly curb air pollution, but fewer people are talking about how to deal with them at the end of their lives," explained a page 1 story in the April 2 issue of Waste News. It goes on to explain "there is no plan to address air and water pollution concerns that could develop if consumers improperly dispose of the mercury-containing devices." .

THE SENTENCING OF THE SHOE BOMBER

With documented irrefutable evidence that the streets of Australia are controlled by gangs and hoodlums plus unsolved major crime at a record that law enforcement ignore for reasons best known to themselves and their respective governments.

As the people live in fear, the elderly are locked in their homes affraid to go outside, we are expected to feel comfortable ingwith this flawed law enforcement system keep our nation safe from international terrorist when government intelligence cannot eradicate this internal terrorism from our streets.

currently the NSW legal system is again underway with proceedings against several alleged terrorist after recently seeing this judicial system at work where they did nothing and released a know and now convicted international terrorist that the French did not mess around with. So we wait with baited breath to see what the Australian wrist slapping judicial will hand down that you can bet will be well removed from what USA Judge William Young dished out to the shoe bomber.

Remember the guy who got on a plane with a bomb built into his shoe and tried to light it? Did you know his trial is over?
Did you know he was sentenced?
Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio?

Didn't think so - but the good old controlled media in Australia has again lived up to their masters voice by keeping the public in the usual mushroom state.

Read what the ruling Judge William Young, US District Court had to say with his summing up of their court hearing and make note of the sentence delivered being very removed from the pathetic Australian legal crap.

Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say. His response: After admitting his guilt to the court for the record, Reid also admitted his "allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the religion of Allah," defiantly stating, "I will not apologize for my actions," and told the court "I am at war with your country."

Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:

"Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court imposes upon you.
On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4 and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.)
On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000 that's an aggregate fine of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines.
The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment.
The Court imposes upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further.
This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and just sentence. It is a righteous sentence.

Now, let me explain this to you. We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been through the fire before. There is too much war talk here and I say that to everyone with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As human beings, we reach out for justice.

You are not an enemy combatant. You are a terrorist. You are not a soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a soldier, gives you far too much stature. Whether the officers of government do it or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier---you are not. You are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice. So war talk is way out of line in this court. You are a big fellow. But you are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when you first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the press and the TV crews were, and he said: "You're no big deal."

You are no big deal.

What your able counsel and what the equally able United States attorneys have grappled with and what I have as honestly as I know how tried to grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led you here to this courtroom today? I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to do what you are guilty and admit you are guilty of doing? And, I have an answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this entire record, it comes as close to understanding as I know.

It seems to me you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate our freedom. Our individual freedom. Our individual freedom to live as we choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not believe as we individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom. It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful courtroom. So that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly, individually, and discretely. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed appeals, will go on in their representation of you before other judges.

We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no mistake though. It is yet true that we will bear any burden, pay any price, to preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The world is not going to long remember what you or I say here. The day after tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure. Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America , the American people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice, not war, individual justice is in fact being done. The very President of the United States through his officers will have to come into courtrooms and lay out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens will gather to sit and judge that evidence democratically, to mold and shape and refine our sense of justice.

See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag stands for freedom. And it always will.

Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down."

Letters To The Editor

Don't be fooled by Peter Costello's rubbery figures. Remember, when just one hours work per week counts a person as 'employed', the actual unemployment figure could be more in the vicinity of 14%.

The situation is not good. Foreign Debt exceeds US$1,060 billion, with 105,000 people homeless and 22% of young men out of work. 3 million are living in poverty and 6.5 million are on welfare. Household debt is running at 125% of average income. Marriage breakdown is now 50%. With only 40% of people having a real job, the crime bill is $31.7 billion. With farmers being forced off the land into the city our food imports now exceed $12.5 million per day.

And, there is that daily ever widening gap between rich & poor.

All this because the Liberal/Labor two party coalitions committed us to globalisation, sold our assets, destroyed our manufacturing industry & violated our sovereignty. It is time to face the facts. There is little practical difference between Liberal and Labour. Only the name of the PM changes. Both parties have embraced globalisation. Both follow the same ideology and dance to the tune of the UN.

The constitution has been disregarded. The foundations of our Nation have been cut from under us…….g..r..a..d..u..a..l..l..y.

Our elected 'representatives' have signed thousands of agreements taking us into globalisation. All without reference to us. Literally, earth shattering decisions have been made. Even when there are objections, debate is usually stifled by 'political correctness' - a system imposed worldwide, precisely for this purpose.

HOWEVER, it can be argued that in effect we have subconsciously endorsed these changes by continuing with the two party system. It is plain we do not live in a democracy! If we had been fully advised of the demands of globalisation how many of us would have endorsed a system which has seen 96% of our assets sold off to 'retire debt', and with the subsequent loss of income we are now taxed stupid?

Farmers are now being taxed for water they collect in their own dams, and we are about to be charged for the rainwater we may collect from our roof. No! Ours is not a democratic government - after the votes are counted, all reverts back to 'DEFAULT'.

The two party system has become a virtual dictatorship which must be replaced if we are to move forward. We need to find Independent candidates committed to representing the will of the people, NOT the party line. Candidates committed to changing our direction and getting us out of the mess we are now in.

BUT: most people do not vote for Independents, possibly because:-

1. They follow family tradition and vote Liberal or Labour.
2. They do not know the extent to which we have been betrayed.
3. Those who do know, probably do not realize enough Independents could force a change in direction.

If you are worried about the future of this country for your children and grandchildren, and if you fall into one of the above categories, then it is time to rethink your voting strategy. Many of us have given up and just vote to avoid the penalty. We regard it as a waste of time because we cannot alter the situation.

This need not be so - fundamentally, if enough of us vote for a committed independent candidate, then we can make a change. It is time to get away from the two party system and allow the country to be run the way the bulk of the population would like to see it run.

Merv Turner
