My Say
This meeting at the Orange RSL Club at 9am on the 6th of September for all wild dog and dingo affected stakeholders where a schedule 2 review was conducted,
saw over 70 farmers attend, much to the dismay of the government representatives who failed in their attempt to stack the meeting.
SOS-NEWS spread the word in our August 22nd publication, blowing their clandestine meeting right out the window.
A Farmer from Victoria spoke to the meeting stating that he, and many others, were feed up with NSW National Park owned wild dogs coming onto their properties killing stock.
We understand that Bradley Nesbitt, National Park ranger, now working the Snowy with his special talents, was in attendance.
Bradley Nesbitt, a major player with the Brumby massacre in 2000 at Guy Falkes National Park. Over 600 heritage horses were executed by National Parks,
many with gunshot wounds in the body, then left for days to die, reports of broken necks and limbs were reported by people in the park caused by the low flying choppers.
We will bring you the RSPC handling of this execution in another issue of SOS-NEWS to compare with other court cases we have mentioned.
Not to be left out of the link is Andrew Lees, National Park "Pest Animal Unit", who like clockwork at farmers meeting quoting that unless landowners comply they will loose
their 1080 access, or amounts reduced, or the strength will be reduced, with often outburst quotes implementing the greens who will push through issues to combat the farmers.
These outburst are substantiated in contemporaneous notes and discussions with farmers attending these meetings.
As we get more information on this meeting we will relay that to you, but it seems the score boards reads
Farmers = 8
National Parks = 2
We are not acknowledged but it is nice to know SOS-NEWS is effective.

Newsfront is gradually becoming the new library for SOS-NEWS information
We will be hosting major stories from the weekly publications, from our archives and investigation reports along with audio and video material.
Since we started the website it has grown to an extent that we find it difficult to locate material as it was never expected to be so large at anytime. This is because of the success we are enjoying by supplying the people with information they have been restricted by controlled media dancing to the government and corporate bosses.
Mr President, there was no need to bring your convoy blackened window vans hiding some state of the art weapons, as your best mate John Howard disarmed the good people of Australia years ago.
Mr President, you have missed out on seeing our homeless shop doorway dwellers and their cardboard box beds all around the CBD, not far from your cosy nest.
They must be an embarrassment to our government, boasting such a surplus of money, when they pay our pensioner $246 a week. Maybe the pollies placed them in a 5 star for the few days of APEC or moved them to Baxter Detention centre, recently vacated by immigrants in custody? "That was a tiny true bit of Australiana you missed out on there George.W"
Animals from Taronga Park zoo are to be taken to an island in Sydney Harbour
for private viewing by the APEC contingent of world leaders and their wives - it's nice to be the king. Could be worth a look here for the missing homeless?
The Sydney gangs and hoodlums, who rule the street we once walked in safety, are the only remaining armed militia with all the guns and weapons of people destruction.
Mr President, these scabs on society have been removed during APEC by legislation, and police intervention, however - they will return to resume control when you leave for home Mr President. Back with their guns - condoned by the spinless politicians and a Police service management that observes a "no boat rocking policy" for promotion purposes, along with political cowardice.
Police on the ground holding the frontline are the pawns in this game of Officer Rank preservation at any cost to appease politicians.
People! - take this very short opportunity to walk through Sydney at night - see what it was like before gutless government handed over control to the crooks.
There is no need to mention more on the Cavalcade from Canada ploy that were welcomed with open arms through barricades right to the front of George W's 5 star
by the taxpayer funded ABC network. It was a class act and a hard one to follow.
Cowboys sums up the security we have been told is failsafe. Obviously we must pray we still are the lucky country, that is all we can rely upon now.
To Be -or-Not to Be Sovereign
The price of free trade labelled as globalisation and the future risks for Australia, should this nation continue down the path of Australian domestic rural destruction, are starting to become patently clear to even the most apathetic people of our Country.
Click on the below URL to read just how risky imports can be, and how fledgling, albeit massive, new world global free trading entrants can risk the health and well being of not just third world countries, but first world nations as greedy corporations seek cheap product and produce over the local more expensive proven home grown supplies.
A Nation's sovereignty and hence borders are a bastion of strength against outside forces. Influences that at best detract from success and well being, economically and socially and at worst, such influences may cause an unsuspecting, unguarded sovereign nation to collapse.
Trade is, and has always been, a necessary endeavour of human evolvement. Free trade touted as globalisation is nothing other than a tool for corporations bent on profits to circumvent the very safe guards and processes put in place by a nation to protect the sovereign nation's political ideals, culture, and citizen's well being, the very essence of being a proud citizen of that Nation.
Most of us personally have insurance for many things. We have children inoculated for possible diseases, etc and attempt to accrue a bank balance for that rainy day.
All things are designed to be pro-active, yet under the free trade globalisation banner we have thrown the baby out with the bath water and are increasingly leaving sovereign security in the position of only being re-active. A very dangerous path indeed for any nation to consider let alone to be part of, as our dictatorial, out of control politicians have done here for us in Australia - today.
Check the labels on the tinned food you buy at the supermarkets. Especially the product directed towards the lower socio-economic groups of our Australian society, the battlers.

BEWARE OF THE DPI
From our coverage of Ruth Downey's cattle being shot by the RSPCA for alleged cruelty of starvation, prompted Michael Oates, from Nathala in Victoria to send us his story.
We have several others, we will be letting you know about, concerning what is going on between the DPI and RSPCA in all states with this bloody minded execution of stock that
may have been prevented by intervention to saving, rather than executing them, and then persecuting the farmers to sanction their taxpayer funded existence, and their faceless masters.
Read what Michael sent us.

Country News two weeks ago correctly reported that Michael Oakes "vehemently denied" seven alleged animal cruelty charges laid by the Dept of Primary Industries of which he was recently convicted, six months after the case was heard, and two years after the events.
It was regarding a mob of assorted size Damara sheep on his property on agistment, which started dying rapidly during a cold snap.
It is widely accepted that court decisions should largely reflect community values, therefore it is important that farmers, especially those who could be faced with problems as Michael was, should be made aware of his side of the story as well as what the magistrate said, plus the spin put on to by the DPI to hold their prosecution together. From this you may assess whether justice was done - or not.
The court decision was eight months jail, suspended for two years, for allegedly being responsible for a problem which Michael argued was not his deliberate action, or inaction, did not cause and which he did his best to overcome when the problem became apparent.
As well as details on details, there are important issues regarding the approach to animal welfare issues by DPI officers in this area that need airing. It seems some other recent cases where they have secured convictions are preposterous and undoubtedly with current drought conditions, more are in the pipeline.
Most likely the DPI will strongly resist any thorough proper independent investigation, which would uncover that which they wish to remain dormant, so appropriate action may not be taken.
The decision of the magistrate would have largely depended on her background knowledge of farming, and particular on how problems can play havoc regarding getting intended jobs done. Also, whether she believed Michael, or the DPI vet, Dr Bruce Anderson.
Dr Anderson claimed that many sheep were suffering from malnourishment because Michael had failed to provide sufficient food, when they suddenly started dying rapidly during a cold snap. This formed the basis of the alleged cruelty charges.
Dr Anderson only saw paddocks the sheep had access to which had not recovered after being eaten out earlier in the year and the small sheltered area where I was feeding the sheep when he first saw them. He never saw the paddock over the channel where they spent most of the time in preference where there was much more grass in it and also hay the whole time.
An experienced sheep farmer, now farming in central NSW was unavailable to attend court and testify as he is time tied to hand feeding his stock due to the drought, did see what I had been feeding the sheep up to when the problems arose.
Dr Anderson helped diagnose the problem, taking stomach samples from dead sheep. Pathology results showed heavy worm infestation, which Michael had not considered a possibility due to the owner recently drenched them. He did not know at the time it that the drenching done was only for liver fluke, not worms.
In the prevailing cool damp conditions and with grazing largely in a small area, the worm egg uptake from a previously high infestation of which Michael had no knowledge, caused worm levels to explode.
Obviously the whole episode would not have occurred if the sheep owners drenching of the stock had included worm treatment.
Michael found the condescending attitude of Dr Anderson towards him regarding the problem very annoying. "You should have done this, you should have done that," etc, all from the aid of hindsight and without knowing the full circumstances.
Being by himself on the farm, with his two regular farm hands unable to work at the time, Michael had a whole saga of time consuming farm problems, including caring for some ailing calves from a recently delivered agistment stock that became sick.
Michael relates of at least three other recent cases in the Goulburn Valley area where farmers have been charged by the DPI with animal cruelty when the animal welfare problems that occurred were largely due to an unfortunate combination of circumstances and /or action or lack of by other people.
DPI officers can direct large amounts of public resources towards prosecutions with impunity to themselves while getting paid. Their main agenda, which a senior officer earlier effectively admitted to Michael, seems to try and make themselves look good to their bureaucratic and political masters with successful prosecutions. They obviously do not care if their action is persecution that may have devastating effects rather than justifiable prosecution.
A common technique is to lay a lot of similar charges and withdraw some in return for guilty pleas to others. Some charged have no option but to plead guilty because of the very high cost of a proper defence.
Is it acceptable having DPI Animal Health Officers spend full days sitting in on court cases they are not involved with instead of doing productive work the Government pays them for?
There were two of these on the first day of Michael's case on 19th February, and three on the 20th. The latter included the vet in charge of the vaccination programme for the anthrax outbreak, which I gather was still in full swing. Something, which needs noting in reports on deficiencies in the way the outbreak, was handled.
Undoubtedly farmers would expect priorities of Animal Health officers to be preventing and detecting possible animal welfare problems, trying to nip them in the bud where possible, and helping when appropriate.
Prosecution is desirable in cases of deliberate cruelty or obvious neglect. However if the animal welfare problems occur despite efforts of the person deemed responsible to minimise them, it is counter productive. If farmers think there is any risk of facing charges if they seek help with animal welfare problems that have got out of hand, obviously efforts will be directed towards hiding rather than overcoming them.

National Park Rangers To Get Tough On Irresponsible Dog Owners
That is the headline published on page 5 of the NSW Central Coast "Express Advocate" emailed to me today, Friday 7th September 2007.
In content it is looking at people walking their dogs on beaches adjacent to and within National Parks.
Quick to quote a $200 fine may be issued, National Park ranger Sharon Davern, is quoted:
"Dogs could cause the most damage to native animal population in national parks at this time of the year."
"Animals see them as predators, the same as foxes and wild dogs. Their scent can disturb animal breeding and nesting habits"
"Dog droppings were not only unpleasant for others beach users but had the potential to spread disease to animals ..."
Now how is it that ranger Davern is aware of the damage to animals and the environment dogs and foxes are, yet we see Dr Tony Fleming, CEO of NSW National Parks do everything in his power to minimise baiting and has a handful of dogmen trapping in National Parks.
Well the answer is simple, Fleming is too interested in Fleming, and keeping the radical green agenda flowing, which is easy when you are pushing all the buttons that activate the incapable millstone, Phil Koperberg, NSW Environment Minister.
Tony, take two paces backwards and get off yourself, listen to your own staff if years of experience from farmers effected by stock losses to your dogs is not sufficient, let alone the ravaged wildlife under your care.
It is amazing just what information has passed into SOS-NEWS that Dr Fleming would love to leave uncovered. But alas, we have many volunteer investigators
who jumped at the chance to follow up on this assignment.

GREENS NOT LOCKING UP THE PARKS?
John Cribbes, a regular contributor to SOS-NEWS, was recently revising his email archives and came up with this communication with the Victorian Upper House greens concerning locking up our bushlands.
If you are not amazed and astounded, then you should be.

Dear John
Thanks for your email and your many thoughts and comments over the past months.
You ask a specific question of the Greens forest policy, and I'm happy to answer unequivocally.
The Victorian Greens have never had a policy to restrict the public from public forests.
On the contrary, we advocate for maximum access and use consistent with ongoing protection of the particular physical attributes of the area.
Clearly, there seems to be some confusion on this issue. Perhaps it stems from the Victorian Greens wanting to restrict access to industrial logging, particularly from old growth and high conservation value native forests. So, again, to answer your question clearly: I deny that restricting public access to state owned native forests has ever been our policy.
You ask that we look at NSW since 1982. If your premise is that the Government there has grossly under funded the management of crown land, I can only agree whole heartedly. Certainly the case is the same in Victoria. This is something we constantly lobby, argue and campaign for.
I hope this clarifies things for you.

Dear Greens,
We live in a world where we blame someone for everything that goes wrong. I hope this past four years of fires gives you a reason to reflect your policy of preventing access to the forests. You deny that policy? Look at New South Wales. Since 1982 all administrations have leapt at the chance to reduce their budget for forest maintenance. Instead of cool, controlled burning in spring and autumn as they do in W.A. we have hyper fires in summer.
I have sent this photo to you because it was taken in one of the firebreaks on Thursday last week. I purposely let the DSE Land Cruiser pass my camera (picture below) so that you can see just how big these ineffectual firebreaks are. This was taken within ten kilometres of the Thomson Dam Wall, not as far as Cast Iron Knob and the timber had just been burned.
This is on the divide between the Thomson Dam and the Aberfeldy River. A lightning strike in the Aberfeldy River Valley followed by a strong north wind and low humidity will see the fire race up to the road, then assisted by the wind it will jump right across this firebreak and be sucked down towards the reservoir, even right across the reservoir to the Upper Thomson Road.
The perceived wisdom is that fuel reduction burning will either stop or start on this line. That may be the case in benign weather but what happens sooner or later is in high wind scenarios fire will race out of the Aberfeldy River Valley and you'll all be standing round wringing your hands and remembering this email. There will be dead people.
You may be unable to stop it now but PLEASE talk to Athol Hodgson and the Forest Fire (Vic) Inc group before you allow yourselves to be sucked further in by this nonsense. There is so much of Sir Humphrey Appleby's voice in this dodgy work.
I have cc'd this to the Chief Scientist in the WA Department of Conservation. He also is worth approaching for advice on how to manage public land.
Regards, John Cribbes.
$330m Green-Bucks for Climate Change and NSW Business
From now until the end of October, NSW businesses can apply for financial assistance with the Department of Environment and Climate Change who has receiving $30 million more of your taxpayer dollars to assist business to "GO GREEN".
It would seem that Dr Tony Fleming, well known radical green bureaucrat in charge of myth-management, has his Phil Koperberg puppet dancing to his tune yet again
The NSW government has set up a $30 million fund to help businesses go green, Climate Change and Environment Minister Phil Koperberg says.
The NSW Green Business program will help businesses use water and energy more efficiently.
Yet to look forward to is more of your tax dollars will fund this myth climate change money tree.
The Phil puppet is quotes, "There will be two rounds of funding every year,"
"Advertisements in metropolitan and regional newspapers will encourage businesses to apply to the fund".
Mr Koperberg also announced a new NSW working group would be set up to reduce carbon emissions.
With Prime Minister John Howard, who is treading water on the climate issues, but has stated previously that he doubts this global warming by human contribution is correct, and that the jury is still out, has prompted this from the Fleming dancing man,
"the NSW government was frustrated at the federal government's approach to climate change because it lacked clarity"
It is unbelievable that we have schools in chaos, with children's education well below basic requirements for their future careers. It is further unbelievable in today world our hospital and medical services are unable to service the public.
This is not evolution, this is unaccountable politicians dictating to the people what THEY have done, with zero democratic input from the people funding these elected party driven desk mammals, who assume "Yes Minister" bureaucratic control like puppies which has allowed the infrastructures fall into oblivion.
Education, ability, training and qualifications are basics of business executive positions, to be with successful corporations.
Do yourself a favour and read the academic and training qualifications of our NSW politicians and relate that to their portfolios.
Now wonder the Dr Fleming's of the bureaucratic fraternity rub their hands together with glee when Ministers like the Phil Koperberg are appointed to their office -
