My Say

Interesting times are afoot as the swelling SOS-NEWS email box reflects the dissatisfaction of not only farmers, but the spill is now prevalent in etropolitan areas.

Only some of the time can you consistently fool the people, not accounting for the SHEEPLE party faithful, which explains the one off leaving and 218 signing on subscribers just this week to SOS-NEWS.

A reminder only for the regulars, and for the new comers - we are here to deliver, "that which those in power do not want you to know or read".

We are not journalist, we make typos, we grammatically infuriate those dedicated purist, we publish people speak far removed from the "politically correct", you do however get the goods and - "it ain't getting no better".

Newsfront is gradually becoming the new library for SOS-NEWS information

We will be hosting major stories from the weekly publications, from our archives and investigation reports along with audio and video material.

Since we started the website it has grown to an extent that we find it difficult to locate material as it was never expected to be so large at anytime. This is because of the success we are enjoying by supplying the people with information they have been restricted from by controlled media dancing, to the government and corporate bosses tunes.

FELLOW
MUSHROOMS

Covert Greenies

I am asking if you would consider posting this query in your publication?

Here are a couple of questions for Mr Andrew Cox, Executive Officer of the NSW National Parks Association.

Your media release dated 18 September states that scientist working for NPA found 1(ONE) Koala and 1 (ONE) threatened bird species.

As you have taught us well on the issue of NOT how many are there but how many you counted, 1 (ONE) Koala is it not more likely that this marsupial along with his/her mates are progressing further north and inhabiting NEW areas.

PLEASE tell us that the reason Koala culls that have taken place around Australia has been done knowing that these animals are endangered,

I DON"T THINK SO.

And the threatened bird species did one of your scientist wave a stick, or yell at it, and it takes flight, in your language that makes it threatened.

Please give the people of Australia the name of your scientist, references to the paper, or report they have finalised on yet another of your façades.

We the public have analysed your tactics, and NOW, are going to use them against YOU, where you will have to tell the TRUTH (TRUTH) we realise that this will cause yourself, and the NPA, serious problems as it is NOT YOUR FORTE.

And by the way WHY do you NOT produce NPA annual report to the donating public - are YOU HIDING SOMETHING?

Regards
Jack Tait.

Councils involved in dubious conduct. Councillors - shame on you all

Councils are collecting rates across the States for land zoned 1A Agriculture, which cannot be farmed due to Native Vegetation Laws. This collection is in fact stealing.

They the Councils are thieving from the people in their very own electorate with more treachery than a common thug.

Why more treachery? At least the thug is not pretending to represent the people.

This appalling activity is being done willingly and intentionally. Further and even more concerning is the actual instructions to their - the Shire Councils lawyers during the ensuing Court proceedings, is to have the case struck.

In other words the instructions were given and the Councillors are the ultimate authority in the Shire Council to stop the matter getting to trial so when we have perpetrated the crime we will not allow the Court the Public or the victim any questioning of our arbitrary action.

Their lawyers are specifically instructed - at all costs do not allow this case to be heard in the Court.

Now this has been a deliberate decision made - a strategy pursued and this sums up the depth of moral depravity of those in authority those very persons who are supposed to be representing us the people in a just way under the rule of law.

The summary is appalling,; first steal the people's money, claiming it is rate money. Then deny them access to the determination of the Court, so they, the people cannot access Justice. Shame, Shame, Shame.

Yet, having been denied Justice, if those very same people who have been so denied, take to the streets, demanding justice, which is their civilised entitlement - they are called rabblerousers, rednecks - uncivilised troublemakers.

Compellingly, I ask, what about the Councillors along with the politicians and bureaucrats who have perpetrated this injustice.

Between 1995 and 2007, any Shire Council could have morally, ethically and administratively exposed the treacherous fee simple land value corruption, now entrenched, since State Environmental Planning Policy 46.

Instead, in an abysmal ignorance of Planning & Development law, one Cooma-Monaro Shire Council, unconscionably resolved to instigate Court Proceedings against a local farmer - Peter Spencer of CPPA, who had not paid his rates.

However, on Friday, in a major breakthrough, the CPPA successfully lodged an appeal which will be heard May 2008 before three politically independent Judges in the ACT Supreme Court.

This would have been entirely unnecessary if any one - it only takes one or more Councillors speaking out, exposing the fraud, simply, that if one cannot use Freehold Land for which it is Zoned, then no Council has a right to benefit from an invalid Land Valuation. This is the LAW.

Cooma-Monaro Shire Council should have known this. But more, so and regrettably the morality of these individuals is appalling. As with all the other Shire Councils across Australia, who are sitting quietly - not wanting to be seen, hoping Cooma Monaro Shire Council wins their fight so then all their ill- gotten funds can be permanently pocketed and their greedy immoral stand will be justified by them saying, we won - stuff, or to hell with the morality.

Ladies and Gentleman - Councillors, this is stealing, it is wrong, it is not "Just." Councillors, you have now been told.

Every single one of you, stand against this as individuals, stand up and walk away, speak out - each and every one of you can stop this travesty - even if it is one by one.

Do this and you can sleep knowing you have done the right thing? You can tell your family, your neighbour, your fellow Shire Peer - that you are truly their representative - that you uphold the rule of law.

Once again the only response one now gets, is Councillors ducking and weaving for cover, proffering every excuse possible offered up, to avoid dealing with the issue, along with Shire Council staff doing the same - in summary claiming the State is really in charge - what can we - what can the Shire Council do?

The sad fact is, Local Government is the first level of Government the Government right along side the people - the very grass roots and our land is at the very heart of this relationship.

If Local Government made a stand the people would rise up and be right behind them - look at the recent Queensland example.

A recent newsletter from the Valuer-General to all NSW ratepayers, no doubt preparing landowners for a new rating system was quietly delivered with the current 2007 RATE NOTICE seemingly as a result of relentless pressure from the CPPA and others for the VG to acknowledge this blatant corruption and the inequitable injustices as the fee simple Valuation/Rating System has treacherously evolved.

It is likely that few read the letter; and that even fewer noticed its covert questioning.

Local Government, which is the closest government to the people had in 1995, an 'elected' Duty of Care and a statutory responsibility to have administratively protected rural ratepayers [in particular], from the State's cancerous regulatory land-clearing [SEPP 46] 'continuing-use' effects. It didn't.

Instead, Local Government has been on cruise control for 12 years where inconceivably, it is yet to see that SEPP 46 is bringing about the possible, eventual demise of Local Government itself.

The 800 years of fee simple land use, which has given this nation social and economic prosperity no longer, has investment security or development certainty. The fee simple sunset occurred on August 10th 1995.

Since that date, there has never been a legal rural rate and association corrupts other rates. Councils have been using invalid Land Valuations from the Valuer General's (VG) Department where the Land Valuation (LV) has been made against the Zoning Provisions (ZP) as provided in the principal Local Environmental Plan (LEP) when what is happening in reality is - Councils have/been/is/are stealing rate revenue from its major investors under false pretences. A civilian would be facing criminal charges.

The VG's letter is a tacit admission that there is now no fee simple base from which to Value Land to deliver a Rate. Local Government hasn't seen it coming and is caught with its pants down.

In the next few months if Local Government were to choose to lead, it could admit its mistakes and return an incremental rate rebate for the next 13 years.

Yes, this would require an admission - no little humility and a method of, over time, absorbing a refund with a genuine heartfelt appeal for understanding from an apology to - the people. But this must be remembered, Australia, is a democracy - yes, we are the people.

Instead [if foolish enough] it could perhaps tough it out and wait for 2008.

The question now must be asked what happens to Local Government in 2008 if the Court Orders that all Rates collected since 1995 have to be returned to the people to whom they are owed? What happens in 2008 if the Court rules there is no fee simple? What happens if the Court says Local Government has no basis for funding? Perhaps by then the State will say … SHUT the door as you leave.

Shame Local Government! Shame!!

Don't think it can't happen. If State Government can trash 800 years of investment certainty and the rule of law, then disposing of 200 years of Local Government will be a breeze.

But without Development certainty who then will underwrite the Nation and carry the Feds and the States. God Help Us! END.

Into Whose Pocket?

$55,000,000 dollars a year to maintain an industrial white elephant ordered by the fiscally inept NSW Iemma government. Yep! That's in excess of $1,000,000 a week just to keep this industrial behemoth of a desalination plant in operation, dormant operation. You've gotta be bloody joking. It would be laughable if it wasn't so serious.

Where is the Governor of this State? Governor Bashir has to dissolve parliament and put the call for new elections and if she can't, John Howard has to step in federally on the grounds of protecting the citizens from abysmal governance, not just poor governance, it's gone way beyond that. Perhaps the same science they used to make this decision emanated from the same science pool they used for manufacturing marine national parks?

SOS-NEWS water tank methodology has been widely and soundly put, but arrogantly ignored in the halls of power. Why? Because our system of water management in NSW would affect the bottom line of greedy corporations as they strain to get their grubby little hands on the god given, life sustaining, waters that fall from the sky as rain once their minion politicians sell us all out under the guise of privatisation.

If we consider in Sydney alone some 2.5 million buildings could all have water tanks installed and the average size could be accepted very conservatively as 5,000 litre capacity, then the saving from the below average rainfall pattern of the Sydney basin would be somewhere in the vicinity of 20-40% per annum.

Lets meet in the middle and accept then that the conservative average means a saving to the overall water consumption of 30% per annum.

This would mean that 30% less water would be required to travel the leaky pipes of the Sydney basin reticulation system than it does today. This means at the end of the year, the collection reservoirs, dams, Warragamba comes to mind, would have 30% more water in it than it will have under today's systems. Without doing the sums here, it has to be accepted that this saving is astronomically immense in water terms.

Our scheme further supplies an immense injection into the job market for the manufacturing, supplying and installation of the roll out.

Our scheme also, whilst initially being funded from the government tax coffers, you know our money, saved to be returned back to us in services, would over time be returned to those very same tax coffers to be used once again for the benefit of citizens.

So why don't they take on our 100% government sponsored water tanks installation concept and get moving. Bucks, very, very big bucks, going to big corporations with massive CEO payments. Powerful corporations with even more powerful lobbyists working for them.

This white elephant desalination plant being built by pure arrogance at the expense of services in this State should sound the death knell of the Iemma government, but for some strange reason the citizens are so indoctrinated by spin, controlled by draconian legislation and so afraid to get militant, that these charlatans of political management just don't care what you and I think.

1.8 billion dollars to build and 55 million dollars a year to maintain, that is today's figures and the Iemma Labor government, under his and previous leaderships, has proved that their fiscal capabilities are equal to the end product elasticity from a rubber tree. Well, due to the slowly breaking drought, not only will this billion dollar plant not have to operate by supplying water to Sydneysiders other than to prove it actually works, but even when it does, it will only deliver some 3-4% of Sydney's water needs.

Additionally we are all now being conditioned to accept a proportional huge individual increase in our general water rates to cover the cost of this Iemma labor government maniacal action that is going to deliver that which no citizens want, except Maurice Iemma and Water Minister fire hose Phil Koperberg, and of course don't forget those corporate vultures who stand to make millions. A rate increase we might add that in its own right would fund the repayment of the water tanks under the SOS-NEWS water tank roll out concept some 4 times quicker than expected from the lower socio economic families within our society.

SOS-NEWS's system's only down side is that it affects the bottom line of the corporatise Sydney Water, soon to almost undoubtedly fall into major private corporate hands. Hmmm, do we smell a merchant bank here somewhere?

So what if Sydney water loses $1,000,000 per week in revenue from people using water from their tanks instead of the reticulated supply? Not only is this saving the environment's water, but it is more importantly keeping that one million dollars in the hands of the very people who need it. You and me, and it is here that we find the answer for the question of why this can not be allowed to happen.

No, none of this is about the environment, or even saving water. It's not about having home grown small business succeed from sound policies and methodologies. It is all about big business making huge profits and achieving immense power in the process and the only place this can be achieved and more importantly sustained, is to get the hand into the tax dollar till and ensure it stays there by legislation.

Iemma, I say this on behalf of all the elderly, carers, single moms and handicapped, the struggling rural sector and the underpaid nurses, police and street sweepers, people who think it but are not game to say it, or just won't get the chance. To get yourself elected to the highest office in the State requires a high level of intelligence and understanding, so whether the science you were delivered, or the reasons your bureaucrats advised, was the cause for you and your government's decision to proceed with the desalination plant against massive public outcry, was just plain bastardry. So arrogantly wrong that these before mentioned excuses do not exonerate you from being an unmitigated, uncaring corporate lackey.

No doubt Bob Carr is holding the door open for you.

A wealthy State is a happy State, but an arrogant government is a dictatorship uncontested.

Brumbyy (with2 Y's)

JOLLY SWAGMAN WON'T DIE

Rural Lobby Group Push For The Bush has received leaked information that the Brumby Government intends to downgrade The Department of Sustainability and Environment's role in managing state forests. PFTB understands that Parks Victoria will take over most of DSE's functions and DSE will be relegated to fire management and road construction.

Parks Victoria will assume responsibility for all facilities such as walking tracks and camping grounds on public land, including state forest in Victoria.

This move is at the direct instruction of the Brumby Government.

PFTB Organiser Bob Richardson has described the move as; "Another attempt to kill the Waltzing Matilda culture."

"While the precise implications of the Parks Victoria takeover are not yet clear, our experience is that Parks has very restrictive policies on campfires, horse riding, camping, dogs, bush huts, prospecting and hunting which are now likely to be implemented in state forests," said Mr Richardson.

"This news confirms our worst fears that all public land will eventually be managed as national park. Our ability to freely roam the bush will be further restricted."

Also, when the Bracks Government banned Alpine Grazing they said that grazing would be still available on state forest leases. Cattlemen alway doubted this would be the case in the longer term and a shift to giving Parks Victoria authority over state forests only increases our concerns.

"Unlike the Jolly Swagman though we will not give up and jump into the billabong," said Mr Richardson.

"There are already large numbers of people fighting the move to create more parks in the Redgum forests and this news will merely make us fight harder."

Kevin Rudd accolading Bob (DEVIOUS) Debus

If it was not serious you would laugh.

This video clip features Kevin Rudd pouring accolades on the ex-minister from NSW, Bob (DEVIOUS) Debus who has the Gaul to present as a candidate for the Labor party at the Federal Elections.

As then Environment, Arts and Attorney General, he pushed legislations to suit his or others agenda's some of which were vegetation, removing grazing from the Snowy, locking up national parks, purchasing farms with an open cheque book, not to mention his removing the Justice of the Peace from those sworn in by the courts because they did not fit the criteria.

When confronted by SOS-NEWS in November/December 2006 to open the National Parks and allow the farmers staving stock to mow the massive fuel loads of grass that were a fire hazard, he replied NEVER.

This track record speaks for the person, but enjoy the spin-doctors version on this video.

"Peter Garrett - watch your back if, Bob is being very enviornment friendly with your boss Kevin" - there is only room for one enviroment stooge in Labor.

Sustainable water, agriculture and population levels essential

MEDIA RELEASE

Acacia Rose, Independent Candidate for Eden-Monaro said 'the enduring drought and severe water shortages have highlighted the critical need for sustainable water management and agriculture for Australia.'

'The ongoing moves to privatise Australia's public water resources, including the over-allocation of irrigation licences and potential buyouts by big water players including the Macquarie Bank is a travesty of public policy and governance.'

'Now is the time to underscore public ownership and management of water and to begin to prioritise water use, not on the basis of the 'highest bidder' but for our food security, domestic and stock needs first and foremost,' she said.

'Australia must now bite the bullet and rewrite agricultural history looking towards sustainable agriculture as the way forwards including food production within the cities using recycled stormwater.'

Ms Rose said 'sustainable population is the issue of the moment for Australia where the economic hope for a population of 50 million simply does not match the reality of a sustainable population based on water resources and management.'

'No longer do we have the luxury of enjoying or celebrating "the harvest" where grain production has dramatically fallen and Australia's food security, agricultural sustainability and longevity of farming lands is on the line.'

'I trust that our politicians do not use this opportunity to sell public water resources potentially robbing residents, the environment and farmers of valuable water and instead, roll back the privatisation of water trends,' she said.

'This is not the time to consider a further IPO for Snowy Hydro and now is the time to put the Snowy Scheme under trust management for water security first and foremost.'
