Mother England look after the Aged
A council flat waiting list is just 1 month and costs $10 AUD per week for the aged.
Medical is FREE including pharmaceuticals and there are hospital beds for the sick.
The pension is $420 AUD per week in line with the UK Basic wage.
Tell us Mr Howard and Mr Rudd, why have your political parties never been able to provide just subsistence for our aged.
Mr Howard, you announced a surplus in the government coffers, and chest pound that Australian's have never seen it so good.
Australian's know there is little to no public housing, definitely no hospital beds and the pittance you attach to the pathetic pension for pharmaceuticals is laughable to the aged - why can you not see this?
So who will be first to attract the Grey Vote and look to the aged who have worked this country for you politicians to harvest our tax dollars to feather your own nests?
Both of you arrogant party leaders should hang your heads in shame, along with your predecessors, for allowing our elderly to remain under the poverty line.
No superannuation was around for these people, and in twenty years the super retiree will replace the poverty stricken baby boomers of today.
Is that too much to ask for the basic wage Mr Howard and Mr Rudd?
Mr Howard! Today you announced a pension increase for Veterans as part of your party election policy, which is a fine gesture - now, take it to the truly needy.
Recognised from those that Matter
While away on SOS-NEWS assignment in southwestern NSW a week ago I had an interesting conversation with an 85 year old lady of solid rural stock.
This lady was now attempting to enjoy a well-earned retirement after many decades of hard bush living.
A lifetime of memories and travails, some incredibly inspiring, others soul destroying. Regardless, this lady is an individual that epitomised the salt of the Australian human stock that built us this Nation. A Nation, that today most take for granted and the Politicians, Bureaucrats and Greens either sell off and destroy, or downright steal.
What was most poignant was the statement that this community respected icon of her times said to me.
" Brumbyy, if I had not spent a lifetime in the bush, farming and rearing children, dealing with self centered Politicians and haggling with local officials that made our life
unbearably intolerable, I would never believe what you write in your news. Knowing the truth from the school of real life, I can only say on behalf of the people of my generation,
a very big thank you and we can never show you the appreciation that you and SOS-NEWS deserve for telling it as it is.
I only hope that somehow you are effective and the city people learn before it is too late for the bush, that what you are doing is only half of what should be said. God Bless your efforts."

What Sound Does a Dingo Make?
Crack, Squish, Pop. Squidge.
Yes, another mongrel feral dingo was given it marching orders on APEC Thursday.
A Sydney-sider travelling the Brindabella Road, Brindabella Range, was fortunate enough to have a 16 week old mongrel dodge his vehicle's front wheels, slip under the car and then kindly place his head in front of the wheels of the following towed trailer.
This driver was ecstatic that he had run over a feral marauding cat. Cats that are exponentially growing in numbers out of the ACT, slowly spreading in massive numbers into NSW and the ridiculous Bimberi Wilderness.
On closer inspection in the daylight, the lifeless body clearly, showed as another great wild dog kill, not a cat at all. "Bit hard to tell when the head is like a pancake." Brindle striped in colour, this killing machine of a pooch was almost undoubtedly one of a litter still preparing for their future.
As Dingoes have up to 9 pups a litter with a survival rate of about 5-6, halve that for males of the litter, there is still one male at least from this pack feeding and growing on the sparse bush wildlife.
With each alpha male and its followers being responsible for up to $250,000 dollars worth of domestic stock murder in a mongrel's life-time, plus the flesh tearing demise of an un-quantifiable amount of fauna population, this Sydney driver has achieved a great success for the environment.
Lets not forget that there is a very real possibility from the wonderful trip you had with your family in the Koperberg sanctioned, Corbyn, Fleming driven, dog breeding National Parks, whilst picnicking beside that crystal clear stream, such visitation may just be the reason that in 30 years your sweet little child, or even yourself, finds themselves in hospital under the surgeon's operating knife attempting to remove a deadly contagious slow to develop hydatids cyst.
No one else would know, for they have intentionally removed the mandatory reporting of this most deadly insidious disease in our society.

An interesting story from the National Geographic Magazine Sept 2007 should make people sit up and think about the environment and the current philosophies being instrumental in the great Australian bush demise. Although this is an American story, the very fact that they have started to return to the beginning, albeit in a face saving exercise, should have all Australians taking a breath and start listening to our real land managers, the foresters and farmers instead of the just blindly accepting the over academicised (new word defining university conveyor belt produced geeks), but no experience, bureaucrats and their hair brained minders - the radical greens.
GASPIN ASPENS
Scientists are racing to find out what's killing the iconic white-bark Aspen.
Though the tree's numbers have shrunk steadily since the 1800s, researches noted a drastic increase in deaths, especially in the West, in 2005.
Last year Colorado, with the most Aspens in North America, lost 138,000 acres of the trees, some 2% of its total.
Silviculturist Wayne Shepperd says early data suggest that the dying aspens tend to be 80 to 150 years old. Possible causes include fewer forest fires
and long droughts, leaving an aging population that's vulnerable to insects and disease. Foresters have reported limited diebacks in other western tree species, such as sugar pine and western white pine.
Most diebacks are a natural part of forest ecology, although climate change may exacerbate them. The Forest Service is testing burns and selective logging on aspens to see if the health of the ailing stands improves.

Victorian farmers are tired of swapping dogs with NSW, and made this quite clear.
This issue be made a national concern for disease spread risk, deterioration of public land as dog infested forest, water catchment land, spilling savage killing packs of dogs into farm land. This is unacceptable. It was clear the information flow and mobility on this issue, through certain agencies, is not as good as dog packs breeding up and leaving the "ecological ghost towns" called national park, state forest or crown lands.
While the general public has been saturated by cute dingo puppy stories on TV, and in the tabloids, rarely do the facts get out that these dogs are savage killers, attacking people, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, other dogs, and will eliminate wildlife species. Once grazing is lost from native bush it deteriorates in terms of biodiversity support and bushfire tolerance to climate changing holocaust. Cute doggies!
Rural Australians forced to cohabit with these diseased carrying killers by government and bureaucratic gang greens conducting their Guerrilla warfare, have turned public lands into dog zoo's on the pretext of "ecological balance and pest animal control" without consultation with the paying public. WE can thank SOS-NEWS for bringing a reality check to public attention.
Farmers have been told they should accept 0.4% livestock kills if they live next to dog country!
Hands up how many gang green who would, give up 0.4% of their income, their sleep, their family time, their wildlife on farm?
Dog massacre of 250 pregnant stud Ewes is a good 0.4% - 129 calves from 600 pregnant cows is a good 0.4% - 80 calves from 80 cows killed is a good 0.4%. How about 23 million sheep destocked because of dog threat is not a bad 0.4% when the national flock is 88 million!
Farming families have been fed to the dogs for political gang green votes, cheap pest animal control in public land where staff have neither the commitment or competencies to manage the land confiscated from rural communities by government on the pretext of "salvation".
Do you wonder why small medium mammals are disappearing in our rangelands dog country as each little 0.4% being ripped, gulped, and tearing then taking a blood filled kidney, the dogs move onto the next terrified victim to eat alive.
The public land caretakers prefer to present these facts as a percentage in a little table or contract.

A TERRITORY farmer has lost more than $75,000 after being prevented from killing wild dogs that are destroying his cattle in a case of "bureaucracy gone mad''.
Tony Harrower said he could be forced off the land if the dogs continue killing his cattle. He said the beasts had already killed about 150 cows in the past year on his 6500ha Pell Airstrip Station, north of Adelaide River.
The losses represent about 10 per cent of his herd.
Despite the killings, the Territory Government has refused repeated requests to lay baits to poison the dogs.
"I have been trying since last October to get something done and I just can't get anywhere,'' he said. "I feel like I'm bashing my head against a brick wall.''
Mr Harrower has been farming in the Territory since 1979 and said previous requests to lay baits at his stations at Adelaide River and Douglas Daly had always been approved.
He said Parks and Wildlife officers would insert the 1080 poison in chunks of meat.
"The reason they used 1080 is it can be mixed to a strength that it will only kill dogs, not any other wildlife,'' he said.
But Mr Harrower has now been told he cannot lay baits because his property is smaller than 10,000ha and it is within the Coomalie Shire.
He said if the rules were not changed he would be forced off the land.
"I have spent $4million here and now I'm thinking about closing down if we can't get something done.
"If they keep killing the cattle, I will go broke.
"I can't even afford that $75,000 I have lost now.''
Mr Harrower's neighbour, Robert Bright, said the dogs were also attacking his cattle.
Mr Bright said the dogs hunted the cattle in packs.
"These dogs are not killing for food, they are killing for the sake of killing,'' he said.
The Government was last night refusing to answer the farmers' pleas for help.
A Government spokeswoman said 1080 was a particularly toxic poison that could only be authorised for use by Parks and Wildlife officers.
"Currently there are no proposals to allow this,'' the spokeswoman said.
GM, To Sue or Not be Sued
There is much talk about the rural sector and in the current media about the coming debate on the end of the moratorium on the Genetically Modified crop issue in Australia.
The writing is on the wall from the experiences elsewhere overseas and especially in Canada that have many in the Australian cropping industry worried for a variety of reasons. From being bound to buying seed from a supplier only, to health implications of the end product, to cross pollination problems.
It is the cross-pollination part of the debate and hence the seed patent ownership that almost undoubtedly is of most concern to the grower and so I would like to proffer the following for food for thought so to speak.
We understand from the anecdotal media chatter that the Canadian and North American experience has netted something to the tune of 457 million dollars in returns to companies from legal challenges to croppers in that sphere of the world from the use of seed stock that the corporations see as theirs and theirs alone. Without getting into the rights or wrongs of those problems your international counterparts endured, to be forewarned is to be forearmed.
