Snow Job on FIRE Phil

Well they are at again, NSW-National Parks Association have made an urgent request to "Fire Phil", or maybe this time "Snow Phil", to put an immediate end to the cloud seeding tests

This miniscule mob of morons say this does not work, but you watch Phil Koperberg, NSW Climate Change/Environment Minister dance to their tune, as radical greens pull his strings.

This is a very informed decision, revealing agenda takes preference to truth, considering it's has been the best snow season in 15 years!

Wait a few days and they will blame it on CLIMATE CHANGE to assist keeping that MYTH alive and employment for the $400.00 pa Tony Fleming's a legend in his own mind as CEO of National Parks..

Like clockwork, the Minister for Climate Change, Phil Koperberg keeps reflecting his listed attributes on his parliamentary CV, which refers to just a very small area of his chest where he displaying a few medals, and with no mention of a formal education in sight. Politicians hold office that requires no education, no training, and no bloody idea, plus tyou get to run this nation, which Phil fits into the slot perfectly.

Everyone else, in the workforce, is required to hold qualifications, plus a plethora of government licenses, compulsory training, and proficiency certificates before you can earn a dollar.

How many politicians do you see qualifying for a REAL job?

REWARD AVAILABLE for GREENIES to CLAIM

What a fantastic contest!

$100,000 will be awarded to the first person to prove, in a scientific manner, that humans are causing harmful global warming. The winning entry will specifically reject both of the following two hypotheses:

UGWC Hypothesis 1
Manmade emissions of greenhouse gases do not discernibly, significantly and predictably cause increases in global surface and tropospheric temperatures along with associated stratospheric cooling.

UGWC Hypothesis 2
The benefits equal or exceed the costs of any increases in global temperature caused by manmade greenhouse gas emissions between the present time and the year 2100, when all global social, economic and environmental effects are considered.

To enter the contest, which I feel SOS-NEWS readers would not qualify for - Click Here

Just watch the greenies try to rubbish it this throwing down of the gauntlet.

Koperberg Kapers

Amendments to the Native Vegetation Regulation 2005 that commenced on 1 August 2007 regulate native forestry operations on private land, bringing these activities under the Native Vegetation Act 2003.

Phil Koperberg, Environment Minister in NSW has rushed through, without public submissions taken into his decision as the radical greens had already set in place the rules.

Is Canine Death & Destruction Coming Your Way?

We see the most prestigious NSW rural newspaper, "The Land" has yet to advertise the Schedule 2 public dog meeting to be held at the Orange Ex-Services Club on the 6th September next. Perhaps it is an inadvertent omission? Regardless, RSVP your desire to attend to Stephanie on (02) 63913242.

This meeting is extremely important to dog affected stakeholders, with these stakeholders growing in numbers exponentially every year. To give you all some indication of just how, consider the following:

In 1978 point 6% of NSW was high density dog affected, 3.2% medium affected, 10% low affected and 86.2% nil affected.

As the years progressed this changed and with all the damage and carnage being perpetrated by these feral mongrels, whilst being protected by the radical greens and those with other agendas, we see the latest available details.

In 2002 3% of NSW was high density affected, 9% medium affected, 16% low density affected and then, down to only 72% nil affected.

Given the above and the propensity of one mongrel cur of a wild dog to directly and indirectly be responsible for upwards of $250,000 in financial losses both directly and projected to farmers, this unabated upwards spiral of wild dogs is a massive problem indeed. Especially if one also extrapolates further, the cost on native fauna as an addition to the domestic losses.

So with the increase in the NSW dog affected area increasing from 13.8% in 1978 to the data as of 2002 of 28% then, where does that leave the figures in 2007. The answer can only be a further major increase and all the while the radicals are calling for the listing of this mongrel feral as endangered.

This is of such importance to so many of you rural folk that the ignoring of this meeting will be at your peril indeed.

This dog meeting wishes to control the debate, as indicated in the agenda, by dealing in percentages of stock impacted, not numbers. Sort of like governments declaring the average wage is X hundreds of dollars a week by including high end CEO packets etc that delivers a rosy picture of untruth.

The truth is, and will fail to surface and be acted upon, unless apathy and intransigence to a most serious problem that is assuredly coming your way unless you act now and attend to this meeting and be seen and heard.

If you think the wild dog issue is not one that affects you as a landholder working in stock, or native fauna, let the following most recent article enlighten you on just how quickly those of you not so affected yet may feel the bite of a Dingo slash wild dog on you arse sooner than you think.

ABC - Researchers use satellites to track wild dogs - Sun Aug 26, 2007

Wild dogs are being tracked by satellite in a research project in south-west Queensland to determine how they can be more effectively controlled.

Biosecurity Queensland senior zoologist Lee Allen says dingoes are being collared and released to determine where to leave baits and when to do so to prevent recolonisation.

The research includes Dalby, Roma, Charleville and Augathella and is funded by state and federal authorities.

Mr Allen says the movements of two young dogs have been prolific, completing huge circles and covering hundreds of kilometres.

"Big strong dogs in their first 12 months, basically year-old dogs, and I think what they're doing is actually looking for mates and partners and they travel through a lot of country where there aren't any dogs and they keep travelling through looking for partners," he said. End.

To further press the point, Australian of the Year Tim Flannery is reported as stating "4000 years ago this continent Australia had more wildlife and were far more abundant than now." Clearly identifying this is a result from the introduction of the dingo into this landmass. Further, he is also reported as observing and stating that "National Parks are marsupial ghost towns."

GM, To Sue or Not be Sued

There is much talk about the rural sector and in the current media about the coming debate on the end of the moratorium on the Genetically Modified crop issue in Australia.

The writing is on the wall from the experiences elsewhere overseas and especially in Canada that have many in the Australian cropping industry worried for a variety of reasons. From being bound to buying seed from a supplier only, to health implications of the end product, to cross pollination problems.

It is the cross-pollination part of the debate and hence the seed patent ownership that almost undoubtedly is of most concern to the grower and so I would like to proffer the following for food for thought so to speak.

We understand from the anecdotal media chatter that the Canadian and North American experience has netted something to the tune of 457 million dollars in returns to companies from legal challenges to croppers in that sphere of the world from the use of seed stock that the corporations see as theirs and theirs alone. Without getting into the rights or wrongs of those problems your international counterparts endured, to be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Lets cut to the chase.

You croppers out there need to deal to the threat before the threat in fact becomes a reality, as you will never have the finances or wherewithal to stand against the legal onslaught once the dice is cast, especially not one on one.

Many of you, especially the smaller family orientated properties may wish to remain independent and stay as natural, unmodified grain growers, retaining seed from your stocks for the following season's planting and hence have the ability to continue at minimal expense, your ability to plant the following season or seasons should drought, frost, hail or storm degrade, or destroy your most current crop. The GM path may well inhibit your ability to do this without the added expense of each season being obliged to purchase new seed stocks from the supplier. This is one of many of the problems GM may demand you face.

The real threat though, is cross-pollination of your crop and future crops, of your natural seed and hence, contaminations of a natural crop that you and your neighbours have grown for generations. It is here that would and should be of most concern to you and rightly so if the Canadian experience is to be relived in Australia and there is nothing whatsoever to say it will not be, in fact to the contrary.

It therefore is apparent that there is a need for all farmers that have no intention pre GM introduction to declare by legal instrument and verifiable scientific analysis that their property is free of GM and that the very basis for the business is just that, GM free.

By virtue, any neighbour, or nearby cropper who is desirous of using GM seed stock and thereby enters into what ever agreement is necessary to do so, is put on notice that should such actions be pursued, then it will be cognizant upon such growers to ensure that such cropping does not impact on anyone else. Should this impact in fact occur in the form of cross pollination, or mixing of seed stock and hence degrade ones natural crop, cropping lands, or produce once cropped, the offending grower and perhaps supplying corporation if there is a contractual agreement, will be on notice that litigation for compensation will follow.

The right to pursue one's legal right to privately, or commercially farm as one deems appropriate for their land is constitutionally theirs, but in so doing it is also their obligation to ensure that such actions do not impact on another and thereby cause undue harm. In this case the destruction by contamination of a property's product that was clearly identified and, verified by science and noted by instrument that existed prior to GM being introduced to the equation, was in fact GM free and intended on commercially staying that way.

It is not good enough to declare that wind, bees, birds and animals may well have caused the spread of such contamination, as all these variables are well known prior to entry into such a GM venture.

GM cropping may well have a place, that is not the argument, but it does not have a place in a society, where by the Canadian experience, that a cropping society, singular or multiple, is transformed by litigation. Litigation that ends with a corporation directly, or indirectly, having introduced a species of plant that insidiously may not be able to be inhibited by spreading like a weed and then using that weed's propensity to contaminate as reason for ownership and litigation.

No not all. Be pro-active, join with your neighbours in forming collectives, seek pro-active legal advice and be prepared to mount an immediate challenge to the commercial injustices the moment they occur.

In Canada the corporations took the legal challenge to the victims and put the onus upon those victims to defend themselves. To be forewarned is to be forearmed, declare your position, your product and your intentions well in advance and publicly and personally make it known that this exists. Signs on your fences, articles in your local paper, discussions on radio, letters to your neighbours and notification to your associations and government bureaucracies. Leave no stone unturned, nor any doubt in any farmer's mind, that it is his/her right to grow GM crops, but it is his/her, their obligation alone, to ensure that no cross pollination occurs whatsoever, from exercising that right.

Do not count on legislation as protection alone, for corporations as big as Monsanto have the monetary might, time and wherewithal to legally challenge governments and enforce international treaties, do you? What did the NAFTA (North American Free trade Agreement) do for Canada?

India Qualified People Moving To Aussie

As we see the elected governments around Australia closing down the farmers, rural industries, and importing workers to fill jobs in Australia due to decades of education departments concentrating on academic achievement, being pushed on our youth, as the career path to take, suitably assisted by parents, who never made the grade in their youth, the multicultural influx of so called trades people leaves everything to be desired.

We now have a massive shortage of Australian trade persons, and a massive over supply of academics, who could not drive a nail into a piece of wood.

To go into business today, you will need a healthy bank account to obtain the government required licenses and certificates required apart from your trade papers.

So let us show you the quality of India electrical trades people's wiring of mains power in Bombay.

It does offer hope to those receiving telemarketing calls from India, who hold your personal records, given by your banks to outsource offshore slave labour services, must use these cables on the poles.

We would bring you the hospital patient care and bedside manners of Indian nurses in their country, who are daily flooding into Australia, but now you may ask your local nursing home, they are experiencing these qualified hospital persons who have very limited English skills and dole out drugs in our hospitals.

VEAC - the biggest dispossesser of land since European Settlement

The Victorian Environment Assessment Council (VEAC) Investigation into the Redgum Forests along the Murray River in Victoria heralds the biggest dispossession of land since European settlement.

The VEAC River Red Gum Forests Investigation draft proposals paper admits that its recommendations will cause poverty and dislocation within the communities adjoining and within the Redgum Forests along the Murray and the Goulburn rivers.

This is a shameful admission by the VEAC Councillors. Further, these Councillors are being paid to deliver yet another flaming National Park in the face of millions and millions of exterminated flora and fauna as well as the subsequent erosion and lack of water in our catchments and rivers, caused by the 2003 and the 2006 - 07 Alpine fires.

I am reminded of the Enclosure Acts in England of the 1600's where the ordinary people were forbidden to grow their food on public land.

More recently, there was the state dependence of people who had to exist behind the Iron Curtain during the Twentieth Century.

That system of social organisation was called Socialism.

The writers who smuggled their work out claimed that the huge number of punitive regulations imposed in their daily lives were intolerable. There was no freedom of speech and people were encouraged to spy on one another to gain kudos from the authorities.

Added to this, there are the current regulations in Australia governing freehold land which take away the rights private land holders.

This is what is occurring in Victoria, stealthily, incrementally, and in the grand name of conservation.

The conservation record shows that the 'authorities' management of our public land is overwhelmingly wrong. Specific 'science' is extrapolated out to whole areas in order to claim environmental sensitivity; fuel loads on the forest floor are being required to build up to holocaust proportions; environmental flows are applied incorrectly with no redeemable effects and tracks are closed to stop access into public land.

Apart from the fires that came through National Parks and destroyed everything, causing erosion and effecting water supplies as well as biodiversity, the heritage and skills necessary to understand and live with the forests are being deliberately stolen away by the VEAC process. This process has gone on for twenty years and delivered a national park every time.

Imagine if we had shared the knowledge of the first Australians. Instead, we shamefully destroyed most of it. Now the same thing is happening again, to the people who have built up generations of knowledge and skill in the Redgum Forests.

It is time for the communities to gather together and forbid any more of this bureaucratic bungling of our land.

Rural people need to gather to the cause and demonstrate that they will continue to care for and use their land as they have always done. They need to take the power back from the ignorant.

They need to defy any regulations and laws which forbid their traditional living within the Redgum Forests along the rivers.

VFFA PRESS RELEASE

Peter Cannon, the President of the NSW Volunteer Fire-fighters Association today called for the introduction of a welfare relief fund for volunteer rural fire fire-fighters in NSW.

NSW has in recent times experienced a significant increase in the size and duration of bushfires, many lasting over several weeks before they are brought under control. Volunteers from the Rural Fire Service have shouldered the bulk of the effort in suppressing these fires, spending more time away from their employment and family than in the past.

The duration of these fires is placing a greater demand on a volunteer's time and anecdotally the VFFA believes it is placing an unreasonable financial burden on volunteers particularly, self employed volunteers who have to work longer hours to make ends meet.

The VFFA is urging the Government and the RFS to support the introduction of a welfare fund to minimize the risk of financial hardship for volunteer fire fighters and to ensure volunteers have a sufficient income to cover their basic living expenses and support themselves and their families during protracted bushfire emergencies and other emergencies

The model proposed by the VFFA would take the form of an emergency welfare/relief fund, set up by the State Government and coordinated by the Department of Community Services (DOCs) at a local office. DOCs would provide an ex gratia weekly cash payment to volunteer fire-fighters where a volunteer fire fighter participates continuously for a period of no less than 7 days in fire fighting or other related tasks during a declared bushfire emergency or other emergency and, is self-employed or where an employer cannot financially support their absence during bushfire emergency or other emergency,

The payment would only be provided to cover basic living and out of pocket expenses for the duration of the bushfire emergency or other emergency. The cash payment could take the form of a flat fee based on average weekly earnings determined by the State Government.
The VFFA believes the welfare relief fund would have the added benefit of ensuring that the RFS can deliver, support and maintain its core services to the community during protracted bushfire emergencies and other emergencies,

Gippsland Times - Lynn Trakell of the Coalition Against Duck Shooting

My experience with this organisation goes back twenty years and to listen and to speak to Laurie Levy regarding ducks it is surprising to me that since he first told me what a crime this sport is, there are still ducks living around our wetlands.

Laurie's disciples will maintain that in the sequence of deadly sins, this one comes near the top.

Laurie's organisation is one that would keep us all out of natural areas and native forests, regardless of our reason for being there. I wonder if he still maintains that the fires, mud slides and floods this year are due to global warming?

How odd that Lynn, from her base in South Melbourne, and obviously an expert in the management of public land, writes to us in Gippsland regarding the VEAC draft decision to make the River Red Gums on the Victorian bank of the Murray River into National Parks and Wilderness areas. Perhaps she knows the boundaries of Gippsland and our proximity to the source of the River Murray?

In two recent WIN TV polls, one of which was in Bendigo, 96% of the poll was against the VEAC proposals. The other poll, I assume out of Ballarat, was only 87% against the VEAC proposals.

How unfortunate that VEAC is not a representative body advising the Minister but a sinecure for the supporters of the Greens.

The last Minister paid lip service to Community Consultation and then took the action that was authorised by the Greens, regardless of the horrible consequences that we suffered this year. I pray that Minister Jennings will tread a more conservative path to good public land management.

Barnfind In Portugal

A New York man retired. He wanted to use his retirement money wisely so it would last and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal. The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15 years; the owner and wife both had died and there were no heirs.

The house was sold to pay taxes. There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors and they had been welded shut.

Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway... so nobody made an offer on the place.

The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth; moved in and set about to tear in to the barn; curiosity was killing him. So, he and his wife bought a generator and a couple of grinders... and cut thru the welds.

What was in the barn?

A driver is stuck in a traffic jam on the freeway. Nothing is moving. Suddenly a man knocks on the window.

The driver rolls down his window and asks, "What's going on?"

"Terrorists have kidnapped John Howard, Peter Costello, Kevin Rudd & Julia Gillard. They're asking for a $500 million ransom, otherwise they're going to douse them with petrol and set them on fire. We're going from car to car taking up a collection."

The driver asks, "How much is everyone giving, on average?"

"About a litre."
