My Say

This week we have enough material together for today's issue and Friday

I have now allocated an emailbox to Ruth Downey, the 71 year old farmer who had her cattle executed by the RSPCA.

WOW! - have we some material now in the database, which I have this moment moved offshore for security.

The picture opposite of foxes poisoned by NSW National Parks, was taken just last week.

Although they had been hung on that fence for around 2 weeks, they are very healthy looking foxes, living on the National Parks wildlife, along with their wild dog first cousins, not to mention the farmers stock they have feasted on as well.

The Cost of Bureaucratic Red Tape in Agriculture

For the nine year period from 1998 to 2006 on a nominal basis the average of all farms analysed;

Had a total expense of $22,542 per annum relating to bureaucratic red tape.

Of this $19,412 was for overhead expenses and $3,130 was for wage expenses associated with bureaucratic red tape.

Had a total of approximately 18 days taken up on tasks associated with bureaucratic red tape which equates to 3.6 full weeks (5 days) or 7.5% of the working year.

The total expense of $22,542 per annum relating to bureaucratic red tape relates to 3% of income, 4% of total expenses and 14% of net farm profit of these farms.

The total cost of bureaucratic red tape on mixed farms is higher than grazing farms in each year over the nine year period. There is no explanation from the data available to clarify why this is the case.

The total cost of bureaucratic red tape has risen on both grazing and mixed farms over the last four years with the rate of increase higher on mixed farms.

A working year is 240 days or 48 weeks. This allows 52 weeks less 4 weeks for holidays.

Wombat Killers to be Given Endangered Status

The radical green wild-dog loving sect, just never give up and the politicians just fawn over their every word in an effort to protect their superannuation funds receivable after a term of ineptness and rural social destruction.

Victoria, like NSW, has almost no pure bred dingoes. The current wild dog population is an evolved by-product of an era of in-breeding with domestic and escaped canines over 200 years.

Even the Aboriginals discarded their pure camp dingoes in the early colonisation periods for the introduced canines, for they quickly realised that European introduced dog breeds actually barked and protected their home turf.

There is plenty of anecdotal talk - that we might add, has sound substance - amongst the rural neighbours of national parks and state forests, of dingoes/wild dogs they have seen that are out of character with the general plethora of wild dogs that permeate these state protected terrains and maraud across their neighbouring farming land, leaving devastation and carnage of domestic and native fauna stock in their wake.

These few dogs are yellow of colour, young of age and show a clear disposition towards an affinity with humans. Traits completely contradictory with the wild dangerous, disease spreading canines of the southern Australian alpine bush, but definitely a canine disposition achieved from farm breeding, or learned in such areas as Fraser Island.

There is no doubt in many minds that persons unknown are salting our bush with such dogs in the vain hope of these animals being accepted as the last remnants of a pure canine living naturally in these areas and hence need protecting by legislation. It is here that the politicians - people elected with no experience in such matters and therefore acquiesce to the self-appointed expert greenies and bureaucraps (no spelling error) - are making moves to illegally ensconce these mongrels with the now subsequent action of attempting to have them placed on the endangered species list.

They are endangered alright and so are the mongrel humans salting these animals if they get caught behind the wire so to speak.

Our mountains and the native fauna gushing from them onto rural neighbouring lands are under siege from these bloody curs, both canine and human. For the idiots somehow elected to serve, called politicians, to pay platitudes and bestow credibility to such crap as indicated below in the following story from the "AGE" is enough for any self-respecting park's and forest's neighbour, to have a violent fit of rage, almost uncontrollable.

The names and organisations of the 36 submissions I bet would tell an interesting story and of course all tendered while the hard-pressed, dog affected farmer was busy struggling with his daily chores. Too damned tired to even know such a consideration by government was being given a pathetic hearing, let alone spend his minuscule rest period at night fending off backdoor green attacks, especially after repairing the daily damage and carnage suffered through his front door.

Come on Victorians, coalesce as one voice, many groups, be militant if that's what it takes and deal to these mongrels once and for all, for right now they are starting to spin the pineapple after having inserted it.

If wild dogs are so bloody effective in controlling foxes and feral cats, why is it that an explosion of wild dogs through the northern end of the Snowy Mountains, as is being experienced at the present time, has also seen a conjunctive explosion of these feral cats and foxes in the same areas? Areas where the NSW NPWS has taken to installing jump baits in an effort to get on top of the fox problem.

National Parks killed foxes from jump baits in dingo infested territory

If the Vic scientific advisory committee recommend endangered listing of these bastard mongrel marauders, then Victoria tax-payers have spent money on wages that have been offered and received under misrepresentation of the truth.

Farmers oppose dingo protection
Lorna Edwards
August 8, 2007

FARMERS have vowed to strongly oppose a recommendation to list the dingo as a threatened species in Victoria.

The State Government's scientific advisory committee will today make a final recommendation to Environment Minister Gavin Jennings to list the species under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act.

The Victorian Farmers Federation said the move made a mockery of wild dog control programs and conflicted with the Catchment and Land Protection Act, which lists dingoes as an established pest.

"They have decimated sheep-grazing country on the public-private land interface in east Gippsland by preying on livestock, costing the industry millions of dollars," VFF president Simon Ramsay said. "If this was to proceed, it would be almost impossible to manage wild dogs and unworkable to have two conflicting acts that see them as protected and an established pest."

There are no estimates of the number of dingoes in the state. They are found in north-east Victoria and Gippsland.

The Department of Sustainability and Environment's biodiversity and ecosystems executive director, Ian Miles, said the clear majority of 36 submissions to the scientific advisory committee supported the recommendation.

But Mr Miles said even if the recommendation were approved, it might not stop farmers trapping and poisoning wild dogs.

The VFF disputes that the dingo is native to Victoria and argues many in the wild are not pure-bred.

The DSE said dingoes helped protect native animals by preying on introduced predators such as foxes.

PLUG THE PIPE

Hearty congratulations to the organisers of the Plug The Pipe Rally which took place in Melbourne on the 9th August. Following on community meetings at Shepparton, Kerang, Yea and Mansfield (attended by thousands) the rally was organised in about 2 weeks. This is a pictorial report of the rally. We will soon follow up with an analysis of why the pipe would, if built, be Victoria's biggest ever folly.

The densely packed crowd is on the steps of parliament while the tail stretches back a city block. Many more people than the 500 ABC News estimate. The police estimate was a 1000.

Speakers who addressed the rally calling for support to keep the fight going were greeted with warm, enthusiastic support.

THE LATEST
HOWARD - COSTELLO
BUDGET IN CONTEXT

by Jeremy Lee

The startling election publicity about tax-cuts and massive surpluses needs scrutiny from those likely to succumb to propaganda. Here are the figures for the last three Federal Budgets:

                             2005/06      2006/07      2007/08
                                   ----------$ billion----------

Personal Income Tax     $114        $117          $119
Other Income Tax            177         185          198
Indirect Taxes                  30           32          32
TOTAL TAXATION             208         220        231
Total Budget Receipts       223         232        249

Anyone who can describe these Budgets as "tax-cutting" is a genius in inventive language, if not accuracy!

Here is a classic example of Karl Marx's economic proposals in "The Communist Manifesto", wherein Marx advocated, among other things, "heavy progressive taxation".

It allows a Treasurer to create an illusion of tax-cuts in certain categories. But the process of inflation, added to wage and salary increases, simply lifts the earner into the next level of taxation. So tax receipts remain the same or slightly higher.

In modern terms this is called "bracket-creep". In reality, it is pure marxist theory.

With a combination of marxist bracket-creep, the selling of public assets and the highest general levels of direct and indirect taxation in Australian history ~ plus brutally starving the States and Local Government of finance through its monopoly of the purse-strings ~ the Howard/Costello regime has created an illusion of insuperable prosperity.

It has eliminated its own federal debt, and has in its hands a $15 billion surplus, equivalent to $2,600 for every Australian household.

It is unspent taxation which should be returned to taxpayers. Instead, the government believes it can spend this money more wisely than the people who earned it in the first place, and is quite prepared to spend tens of millions of dollars in election advertising to convince the public of their wisdom.

In reality, the country is governed by one of the laziest and most complacent group of politicians imaginable! In physical assets, Australia is the richest per capita nations in the world. Its mineral and energy exports are past belief! But it has built itself a current account deficit and a foreign debt that threatens our very existence as a sovereign nation.

Under the eleven years of the Howard/Costello regime the indebtedness of Australians has tripled, from an average 60% of household income to an average 160% of household income. Both mothers and and fathers are forced into the workplace to pay their debts, raise a family and pay off a home. Two million Australians live in poverty. Young Australians have virtually no hope of home ownership. These are the real facts Australians should be told this election,
